We see that all the time in college basketball. He’s at the top or near the top of every passing category in the conference this year. A “steady” and “consistent” player is a game manager type to me. Rourke is the type who can go out and win games for you, not just go out and not lose them. I guess we have different definitions of "stud" then. Quote
JSHoosier Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 While IU sometimes has seasons where they win some games, this team is passing the eye test. They look well coached, they don't beat themselves with stupid penalties and mistakes, and the couple times they've actually been challenged they've responded. Washington had wind in their sails; a goal line stand to end the 2nd then got an INT and TD to start the 3rd. This team punched right back and scored 14 straight. steubenhoosier Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 #13 had minimal impact on this game and yet we still won handily. Speaks to the depth of this team and the fact that they are unselfish in their approach to winning Joe_hoopsier 1 Quote

OKHOOSIER Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 I’m not trying to be hyperbolic but holy sh*t this team is special. We need to pay Cig. Washington was a good team. And we mollywhopped them, hard to believe this is real life. Go IU Joe_hoopsier 1 Quote
HoosierFan1994 Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Not the best the team has played all season but may have been their most impressive win...outside of last week. Most adversity IU has faced all year. When it was 17-7 out of half and they throw the interception...that game could have gone the other way. Instead, they respond with a 14 play drive that results in 7. This team is different! 1) I thought Tayven did his job. He wasn't great. But good enough. I'll take the blame for the INT. Out of half I said out loud the most important thing so far is he hasn't turned the ball over. Would prefer Rourke to come back next week as long as he's capable. It sounds like he should play. 2) Last week on Gameday Thamel said that the only NFL talent IU has is Rourke. I disagree. Kamara has impressed me all year long. Feel like a few of the OL guys could get drafted as well. Surratt and potentially Ellison. Have zero clue where they get picked, but this team has more than one NFL player. 3) Funny seeing one loss #4 Ohio State beat Nebraska by 4. Meanwhile "#13" Indiana beats them by 49. Only B1G team I'm putting ahead of Indiana is Oregon. thebigweave, Joe_hoopsier and MemphisHoosier 3 Quote

People can say what they want, but I think it’s disingenuous for people like Desmond Howard and Kirk Herbstreit, who both picked us to lose today, to come back next week and say we haven’t played anybody. I mean, if you picked us to lose, you must have thought we played a good team. Artie86, MemphisHoosier and CSP 3 Quote

JSHoosier Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 When Washington scored to get within 3 it would've been easy for this team to pack it in and with Allen's teams it probably would've been a back breaker. The line adjusted and blocked better allowing Ellison to run all over the defense in the 2nd half, he runs with intent and it's great to watch. Jackson left some plays on the field but inconsistency with a backup QB with little game time is expected, he also showed some potential. Ponds showed out well, especially on that 2nd pick. Stayed glued to the receiver, turned his head, high pointed the ball and made the receiver try and play defense. I was at a family cookout watching and one of them is a pUKe fan, he saw a camera shot with the stands filled with red and asked if it ever looks like that and I said "no, not unless OSU fans are in town". If you caught Coach Cig’s press conference after the game he said Washington changed their defense to more zone coverage. They threw out half the game plan and changed things up. Or find any IU lot and park for free. A big one on 12th & fess I believe. Of course you have to get there early. Quote
