Some want everyone to know they are not happy with Woodson as coach so they will bring it in every thread to let people know about it. Even though I did a poll and 87 people were not happy and only 8 said they were happy. I guess some want to let those 8 know they are not happy with the coach. Even in a Myles Rice commitment thread they try to find a way to get their point across lillurk, FortWayneHoosier, RaceToTheTop and 8 others 11 Quote

HoosierHoopster Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Rice is a highly talented 1 guard coming off an all frosh season — big time box checked at point. Don’t know yet if he can hit regularly well from outside with the end of season slide (post cancer and missed time) — but for me if he can that’s icing on the cake. He’s a good point- huge need filled. Pretty sure everyone here by now knows how strongly I feel about the need to vamp up our perimeter game significantly, but you need a strong floor general, and this kid minimally brings that plus scoring. If he gets the outside shot going too (and at least 33% seems reasonable pre falloff), great, but he can set up Bako and others. No one was running plays for outside shooting this season, I think that’s largely on Woodson but enough of that, this kid sees the floor and gets his team shots, this is a legit step 1, now hope to see another shooer added soon…. hoosierfan6157, J34 and Dave from Dayton 3 Quote

Can't disagree with any of this. I know everyone wants shooters, but this checked the biggest box. Give him the keys, and let's add more talent around him. lillurk and HoosierHoopster 2 Quote

Popular Post IH8PU Posted April 14, 2024 Popular Post Posted April 14, 2024 Has IU upgraded their guards, with the Rice commitment I think they have. So they don't play defense in the Pac12??? Maybe not but fans will find out that conference isn't dog meat after USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington join. Not so much Washington and USC right now in basketball but definitely UCLA and Oregon. Is Rice's 35 points against Stanford less than Malik's 25 against Penn St or 34 against Kennesaw State? Rice's last two games were in the NCAAT vs Drake and Iowa State. He shot 33.3% from 3 and played all 40 minutes vs Iowa State, 38 minutes against Drake. Can you imagine a guard playing all those minutes and committing only 1 turnover in the Iowa State game and 2 in the Drake game? What a change that will be, taking care of the ball while playing major minutes. Pac12 isn't dog meat and he is Freshman Player of the Year and 1st Team Pac12. I love this kid. lillurk, choosierred1, jonz44 and 8 others 11 Quote

Only attempted three 3's that game hitting 1 in both games. Maybe their strategy changed as a team and he shot less 3's. Quote

Stuhoo Posted April 29, 2024 Author Posted April 29, 2024 You want 30 minutes of Myles Rice in Bloomington after he committed? Did you know that My;es Rice's cousin is already and has been an IU team manager? That he's been playing with Jakai since 4th grade? Standing by my take that THIS is the single most important addition to the team that we've had in a very long time. Exudes leadership and a young man that Hoosier Nation is going to flat out love. Stuhoo Posted September 30, 2024 Author Posted September 30, 2024 Myles Rice will be the most valuable player on the Hoosiers this year. He may not lead us in statistical categories (other than assists) but he will be the team's most valuable player. Why? He's talented on the court, but his on-court talents are far surpassed by his work ethic, leadership, and attitude.
