What do you expect when all we have to go on is a consistent barrage of rumors and vague statements we have to decipher. The program has announced officially nothing since hiring thier HC. I mean look at Texas . They played a a tourney game , fired thier HC , hired a HC , and announced an entire staff and landed a portal committ yesterday . I don’t think just one bit of official good news is too much to ask in today’s hoops environment. The portal commit came with the coach from Xavier. I don't understand why some people have to be so impatient and acting like some drama queens. Silat Player, JPCIVOP, AZ Hoosier and 1 other 4 Quote

With how Stirtz played this season and Auburn has a D2 player it is becoming more common for D2 players to play well at the D1 level. Chris007, NVFalcons1990 and Hoosierfanyuh 3 Quote

I have no idea if we are getting him or not, but it seems that IU fans do better when we assume the worst. It's going to be a bumpy ride... but we will get there... I trust Coach DeVries... he's rebuilt programs at Drake and W Virginia... so he knows what he's doing here... Quote

There's 1400 players in the portal and that number will reach close to 2000 by the time it closes on 4/22. NVFalcons1990 1 Quote

Or... maybe there are other factors... like wanting to be close to home for family... Yeah, IU has been dysfunctional for 10 years or more, but the changing of the guard (Buckner/Woodson out, Dolson/DeVries in) will help that. Maybe reputation plays a role, but given the new direction and the desire to hire a "real" college coach is also a factor. Crean was streaky and at times, odd, Archie had the personality of a bag to doorknobs, Woodson was lazy and arrogant... all of that is gone... I don't think it's going to be as hard of a sell as some think it will be... DeVries has a plan, and we need to let him work that plan. He will win some and lose some, but we're gonna be ok. Coach DD has done it twice, he will do it again. Silat Player, GloryDays and cthomas 3 Quote

Starting July 1st, collectives can't be used to pay players going forward. However, they can have private NIL to athletes. The math doesn't work since the revenue sharing cap is $20.5M. That’s called supporting the program. It’s equally unproductive to mope about how awful IU is/has been. Is what it is what it is. Gotta dig out of it. Can’t hold the pent up frustration from Archie and Woody against DDV. One miss doesn’t break everything.
