Setting his IU connections aside Goode would represent one of the very few players on the roster that have played and won at the high major level in a role requiring significant minutes. Add in his appreciation for IU and a year here under his belt and I think he’d be a value-add as a 5th year senior. If Goode is part of the team, the coaching staff needs to be clear that he can’t be commenting on social media. No responding to Dakich. That needs to be a directive for the whole team. Then I ask myself, “what the hell do I know about social media?” I would be fine if Indiana just embargoed everything and anything involving Dakich. lillurk, Home Jersey and thebigweave 3 Quote

Asha’man Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 As a fan, I’m a fan of the team and rarely follow players after they are gone. Tweet or no tweet, it doesn’t matter. Luke is a player who would really benefit from a fresh start with a coach who emphasizes accountability etc… I think a kid like him could flourish in the right system with the right mentors. lillurk 1 Quote

I'd like to have someone on the staff, whether it's the head coach or someone else, that's well-versed in social media and can get these guys to understand how to pick their battles. I'd rather not have guys tweeting and arguing with fans after losses. TJD and Race did that a lot. Quote

But barely, and they're all fairly malleable at that age because they still don't know jack about people and the real world. He played his butt off down the stretch regardless. He may have said things people didn't like but he didn't stop competing. He won't continue the Woodson mentality, especially under DeVries. And if he were really the type, I'm confident coach would spot that from a mile away and would have already told him 'thanks but no thanks'. His value as a glue guy veteran for this pot luck roster far outweighs anything he partook in during Mike Woodson's Massacre. str8baller, lillurk, thebigweave and 3 others 6 Quote

THAT argument I can somewhat understand, but none of us have been in the position that the kids on the team had to deal with the past year (two years for some). It takes a tremendous toll on the psyche of the team, and whatever you can do to help your team and improve the locker room dynamic, you do it. I never took Luke Goode's comments as "taking shots" at the fans. I understood that he was just trying to stick up for his coaches and teammates, because they needed it at the time. I didn't like it. He could've worded it better. But I also think that the things we saw him do in games to coach up his teammates and give effort and focus at crucial moments demonstrated that he is the sort of player that any smart coach would want on their team. He's a glue guy and a vocal leader. And I think that's what he was trying to do when he made those comments, ill-advised as they may have been. I'm more than happy to put those comments in the rearview mirror, but he'd be welcomed back with open arms in my book. hoosierfan6157, lillurk, woodenshoemanHoosierfan and 6 others 9 Quote

That should tell you why they should stay off social media. It’s full of troll accounts and click baiters. Dakich got what he wanted so he could do the “told ya”. The football team was an example of how you handle social media. thebigweave, lillurk, Home Jersey and 1 other 4 Quote
Pagoda Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 I expect CDD’s teams to have few, if any, issues with social media. His previous teams didn’t have problems from what I can tell. CDD would reprogram Goode and fix whatever Luke picked up from Woody. CDD’s program culture should lead to players being focused such that they naturally tune out all the noise — from hostile road crowds to trolls on social media. It should be very refreshing to see. thebigweave 1 Quote
