Transfer Portal w IU Interest

lets move the debate on if CDD will be here after 2 years or not to a different titled thread please.  i think CDD already has interest in IU as he is the head coach.  This thread is for transfer portal with IU interest.  Is CDD already in the transfer portal looking for another coahing gig?

Yea, this year's high school class will be small, but hopefully we can get some portal guys with two to three years of eligibility so we can get some more continuity and foundation going into Year 2.  I think we will.

This is still the big challenge for new coaches -- getting that high school and portal mix right.  Cig is dealing with this issue too, this is his second heavy portal class and '26 is his first real shot at a good high school class now that he's had time to make recruiting connections and showcase the program.  The best CFB programs are still very focused on high school and getting players into their program for multiple years to be developed (with portal as a supplement).  I think the same generally holds for CBB.

No.  This staff plays everything extremely close to the vest.  You usually don't know much of anything until a visit is scheduled.  So Dixon is probably the news of the moment and then a long wish list of big guys we hope they pursue pretty heavily with Freddy Freddy from Texas Tech probably leading that list.

He had some serious improvement his sophomore year.  Hopefully this is a player we get where the staff catches his potential and once the season starts everyone points to his rating being way off.  Two years of eligibility too!

I doubt it since he is a 6'3 guard
