And in case anyone else was holding on to the farce that our NIL was special compared to other huge programs, Kansas offered AJ Storr 750K. Which he turned down because he wants 1mm. Storr and his handlers being idiots aside, I say that because it proves we are swimming in a pool where proven high major dudes can get huge money from the bluest of the blue bloods. And AJ Storr is just an example who I don’t think is even worth 750k much less a million.

Without a solid plan to change the offense and/or a new basketball coach, money is not going to buy the team our administration seems to think it will when the root of the problem is the coaching staff and their schemes. This will be overpaid mercenaries seeking money Kansas won’t even offer— we can hope Indiana ties helps, though I doubt it does to the extent many believe.

Relieve Mike Woodson of his coaching duties.

I love this post and exactly what I was thinking myself. Woodson probably thought as long as he had money to throw and bigger name guys that he’d be able to get whoever he wants and it’s just not the case. Players don’t want to experience what we’ve seen the last 3 years and obviously Woodson doesn’t think that matters. Gonna end up overpaying people just field a roster. The longer it goes on, the more we’re gonna have to overpay for lower skilled players. Unfortunately I don’t think we’re at a point where if the portal ends up being a strikeout (based off we should be able to get a good haul) that they’ll get rid of him. He’ll get his 4th year regardless and then he and Quinn will ride off together.

i guess I don’t fully doubt that there could still be some things in the works where we end up adding a couple high quality guys, but it’s probably gonna be a matter of we are begging and overpaying to get them here. Woodson thought he was gonna have it made with this NBA free agency style of doing things.

It’s crazy to me, that 300- 500k got you the best of the best before NIL. 100-150k got you top talent.  Everything has quadrupled.

Supply and demand. More teams have entered the market to pay players. Just shows how the top teams pre NOL were easily beating everyone else.

I keep seeing people on Twitter talking about "Let Woody cook!"
What's he cooking? More beat downs from Nebraska and Penn State?
There are people on Twitter who think Woodson is the greatest thing since sliced bread. If you dare question their narrative the name calling starts. It's really something.

Yes, it's fascinating. It's as if they haven't watched the same teams that we have the last 3 years.

... and that's why it is far more interesting to question and opine about substance and objective information than about whether some random people on social media or a message boards are sane or crazy.

It's getting to the point where I don't know who the bigger joke is Woodson or Dolson.

Woodson for someone whose job is on the line and is doing nothing different than he has before. We are the best team in the country at getting visits. But here we are final four weekend and not a single commit besides an HS kid. He's not changing the offense, not changing how he recruits. Yes, we might still get a decent roster by the summer but he will still be the one to coach them.

Dolson to sit back and think we're going to find gold by just throwing more money at the problem. We don't recruit the state, we don't contend for BT championships, and we have to fight to make the tourney every season, usually only qualifying for the NIT. He has let the program we love just go down the drain and has done nothing to fix it. Woodson said I'm not going anywhere and Dolson hid in the corner and cried. Sad state of affairs.

My ramble for the day

Geez -- this makes me depressed. LOL!

I can't say I've read all your posts, but I don't rememeber you ever taking Dolson to task in such a harsh way.

And yet it’s hard to do anything when your bosses won’t let you. Or won’t sign off on who you want to get.

I haven't but I'm just disappointed. The people who supposedly love this program and letting it go in the crapper. I know it's been there for a while but do something about it. The easy choice was bringing Woodson back.

There are always ways around that. If he wanted to make a change he could have. He tried to play both sides and then did nothing. Now he can sit behind my hands were tied.

But is his job really on the line? I mean all the talk was there would be staff changes, a gm hired, offense would have to change, dolson as going lay down big expectations this offseason, etc. Maybe some of this will happen but everything seems status quote so far. Makes me think maybe his job really isn't on the line and no real talks happened between them.

His job is on the line by having another season like he just had he will be fired whether he and Dolson talked about it or not. I'm told they did. I think his ego is just so big that if he gets the right players he will be right back going 12-8 in the league. Which to him is an amazing job.
