Hot Take: UK wants to get rid of Cal and needs him to land a job to off set the buy out…. Cal goes to IU.

Pearl goes to UK and IU gets Cal.

:)

I recommend they hire Mike Woodson and Armond Hill.

Listened to a Michigan show this morning. Sam Webb has a show in Ann Arbor and is head of the Michigan 24/7 site, as well as the unofficial mouthpiece for the athletic department. His #1 candidate is Dusty May and said Louisville might have Day as their number 1 but UL might not be Mays top choice. The panel all agreed Indiana fans ticked we have Woodson and will let May slip away.

Almond Hill got a NIL deal with cannibis indica brand so I think he is happy where he is

That's if he really knows where he is. I think half the time he has no idea where he is and he's ok with that

Cream was better but even he was not the answer. Trading a C level coach for a B- is better but still not good enough

Honestly, I think Crean would have been even better in this era. He knows how to navigate the portal and with Iu now financially backing the program he wouldn’t have had the big drop offs. All a moot point now and wish Crean well in whatever he does.

Fwiw, Query asked Crean what he thought about this little controversy:

Rumors, questions, and discussions followed Leal’s comment. Are the fans too toxic? Could that be the reason why they missed out recruits or players in the transfer portal? Former Indiana basketball coach Tom Crean joined Query & Company Wednesday afternoon and was asked that question.

“I don’t know if I believe it. I think the fans, from my experience, any booing or any negativity that I delt with, wasn’t anything close to some of the stuff I was dealing with back there with the administration. I wanted every one of our players, no matter how great it was or how rough it was, to understand the privilege it was to play there and it’s special because of those people. There is a passion for that place that very few have.” Crean stated.

“Indiana’s built on the grass roots of Indiana. Administratively or coaching wise, the moment that you forget it was built on the communities, counties, rural areas, you name it, that’s how Indiana basketball was built. You better never forget how Indiana basketball got built. Those people there, they love it. Some of them hate it, but they weren’t born to be Indiana fans anyways. The ones that love it, they love it. Can they take it over the top? Sure. There is NOTHING like it when that place (Assembly Hall) is rolling and those fans are bringing that intimidation factor to the opponent. To get to those days, you got to go through some of the hard days and the last thing you ever want to do is disrespect the people that make it what it is.”

Do you all think Indiana Admin and Coach have forgotten their base?

Yes. And I love that he stood up for us and called out the administration publicly. We need more people to do the same. These people operate in the shadows (zero anccountability) and sh!t on the people who are responsible for any relevance the program still has.

Agreed. I mean, the fact of the matter is that IU's major sports programs (football and basketball) have been a mess for DECADES. That indicates a systemic problem within the administration of IU as an instititution. It goes far deeper than a single coach or two. Miller and Woodson are simply symptoms of the larger problem...

There's no secret there.

I think it's no secret for the die hard fans  now but I think the average fan still needs to take the red pill.  The reason why the administration has been able to get away with incompetence is because we're a midwest school and have huge alumni/admission numbers.  People are going to come regardless and the administration will meet their financial numbers. Now they're missing opportunities to make a massive amount of more money but that's another topic.

Things are bad enough that people are calling for the Tan Man to return. Yikes.

We've completely hit rock bottom...LOL

Not a, Crean fan, but I actually think if he had the portal, he would have fared a little better.

If he didn’t sour the state HS coaches I think he would’ve been really good. We haven’t had offenses shoot even close since he’s been gone.
