What should a coach's tenure be?  

 

 

In Creans case it wouldn’t be about the number of years for another coach to come in it would be the fact that he got fired a year after he won coach of the year in the B1G and won a B1G title.   Some might be hesitate about that.  Knowing the whole story isn’t a luxury people on the outside have.   They just see the result not knowing he burned bridges with high school coaches

Don't you think that coaches who are even remotely interested in/considering moving to a new school would do some sort of research on the new/target school? I know that I would definitely look at their history of coach tenure and look for patterns, red flags, etc, and that research would definitely include identifying any mitigating or aggravating circumstances...

Dolson should be embarrassed that the better program is thriving while Indiana is a complete dumpster fire.

Guys, sure Woodson is showing why he hadn't been a head coach in 10 years but if we fire a coach no one else wanted to begin with we'll look like a bunch of meanies. That's more important obviously.

Sorry, but we can’t fire him. The public perception of firing him when we gave Archie four seasons would be so much worse than the public perception from two 20+ point beat downs courtesy of our biggest rival.

IU hired a guy who had no business getting the job but the administration (and a portion of the fanbase) will gaslight us into thinking we’re the problem. Mike Woodson 100% needs to go. Embarrassments like tonight do so much more damage to the program than firing a crappy coach “too soon” ever could do.

Dolson continues to have front row seats to pathetic performances from this program. Even last year, this team displayed major red flags. There is zero hope going into next season.

And further removed from IU being relevant and further into a generation that's mainly known IU as a joke.

Keep the crappy coach that never should've been hired because the previous crappy coach was given too long. What could possibly go wrong.

How in the world did he see this team and think we didn’t need to use the last scholarship? Xavier is erratic and often injured. Trey would be a solid role player on a good team but isn’t a guy who should be playing 33 mpg. And that’s the backcourt Woody decided to roll with.

Woodson was a great player here, but not a good coach. Hiring him was always going to have a messy end unless he retired on his own. 

And sorry, keeping him isn't a good idea just because we didn't fire Miller when we should have.
