If we didn’t have a big buyout and who we wanted didn’t, Dolson wouldn’t have to get people on board nearly as much. 

We have one of the largest alumni in the country if 1/4 of them gave $100 we would have the buyout. That's not counting people like my grandparents who would donate but didn't go to IU. It's just more of getting people to sign off on like you have said and I agree with

I just can't understand these people who won't get on board.  They like losing?  They enjoy being the laughingstock of the college basketball world?  We've been sitting on a winning Powerball ticket for over 20 years but we're too inept to cash it in.  Absolutely mind blowing.

When talking about "fit" I can't think of many better than Pearl. He'd bring energy and excitement as a given. He's a coach that knows basketball and would appreciate a massive fan base that also knows bball. He knows Indiana and would be able to recruit the state well. He is good with the media and I'm sure donors. Oh and the dude freaking wins. I just think it'd be a fantastic marriage of coach and program. Could coach for 10 more years possibly and have us as legit contenders each year.

We all might disagree but if what I'm hearing is the backup plan this time IMO it's a clear upgrade than Woody but that can be argued.

To add to this - if it's Pearl, and there's real smoke associated with him coming to IU, this thread is going to hit 1,000 pages. No way he would announce something like that before Auburn is done with their NCAA run. We have a lot of time to speculate, agree, disagree, and spin the Brad Stevens Wheel of Fortune, folks!

Also I want to add for everyone to see and read because I see this on Peegs and here. The mods over there are the worst IMO but anyway. When someone says IU is talking to Pearl, Alford, Pitino whoever, It's not Dolson picking up the phone and calling one of these coaches.

It's someone who is related to IU who is talking to the agent of a person close to whichever coach. Numbers can be discussed in this situation and it doesn't mean we already have lawyers drawing up contracts. But those talks can take place before Dolson meets with one of these coaches face-to-face. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

No I am not. These things scare me so much because so much has to happen. And with this one it has more working parts than the past few. But on the other hand, I love coaching changes. It brings hope.
