Wow never heard that one. One of the two or three worst coaches in the big ten telling the AD I leave when I decide to leave. That just goes beyond arrogant. There is someone just off with him that goes beyond arrogance

I guess that didn't work out so well for him

I can't believe dolson actually said this. Yikes.

As I did my deep dive, Mike’s known as a visionary,” Dolson proclaimed. “Mike’s an X’s and O’s guy … I’m talking to people that weren’t advocating for Mike, that had no idea where I was in this search, that talked about ‘there’s no better mind in the NBA than Mike Woodson.’ It hit me, as we’re looking for the future, that was really, really important.”

Taking Dolson’s words at face value, he seemed to believe he was getting a forward-thinking basketball savant

To hear them all tell it, Woodson’s effort on the recruiting trail for high schoolers was poor and almost non-existent compared to the grinding nature of his peers. A nickname emerged in those circles, “Bigfoot,” because no one ever saw Woodson. Wine, cigars and golf took precedence. Woodson didn’t listen and didn’t want to change his ways. And the whispers of him being insulated from an ouster by long-standing relationships — one by the chair of Indiana’s board of trustees, another by a key donor who doubled as a business partner — seemed to ring true.

That is, until last week.

All these burner accounts. It's rather amazing that Woodson has his ex-players on twitter fighting with Hoosier Nation every step of the way. Frankly, outside of TJD, they were all very forgettable...just like the teams they played on.

In my head, the perfect interaction goes something like this...

Dolson: Hey Mike, got any plans for black history month?

MW: Are you asking because I'm black?

Dolson: No, I'm asking because you're history.

Woodson: I got big plans for next season

Dolson: Well you won't be coaching so you'll have plenty of time to work on your golf game

The real reason Woodson is upset he's losing his job is that he'll now have to pay for the trips to different golf courses around the country as well as the green fees instead of doing it on IU's dime.

He can afford it, he and his guardian angels have robbed IU blind the last 4 years.

Not sure what's more upsetting - Woody's arrogance or the fact that Dolson just sat there and said nothing.

Nope - it's Woody's arrogance. Dude needs to leave ASAP.

I'm not so sure Dolson didn't just sit there and  let Mike slit his own throat...Almost makes me think Scott was going to let the complete Shitstorm hit woody last weekend and the rest of the year with no announcement!

In fairness to Dolson and those comments. Woodson actually does draw up some good stuff. Here is the problem, teaching the plays and teaching execution. Those are where his shortcomings are.

Woodson's out of bounds plays are excellent. The one against Maryland was a Myles Rice brain cramp disaster, but for four years he's drawn up some really good stuff.
