Anyone that has ever been an assistant coach and had a pulse has had these moments.  It is part of the deal.  But most of us are not in this position where every single thing we do is being watched super closely by a fan base hoping for change.

The “compromise” by Dolson to let this go down this way saved us some good cash on the buyout. Lot of litigation today. Make no mistake about it, this was not Woody’s decision to retire.

In my experience, you can bring it up again over drinks later that night if you have that kind of relationship. But showing the boss/HC up in public like that is not kosher and shouldn’t be tolerated. 

It's a circus and has been behind the scenes since year 1. It is what it is at this point.

This is correct. You are bringing someone in totally from the outside. Not gonna happen

ON the second part I don't necessarily agree he makes it through the season. 

I hope you are right that he does not make it through the rest of the season. It would be nice to official close this era and start the process of rebuilding. I guess I don’t see us moving on from him. He should have been fired at the end of the last season but we brought him back. This season is another wasted year and this team isn’t going on a miracle run. He’s been protected by the administration his entire tenure. I guess I don’t see the purpose of moving on now when we have already wasted over 3+ years with him as HC. Like I said, I hope you are right that he is gone before the season is over

I think you’re probably right if for no other reason than Rice would have been told he has to break the press and/or only Goode or Mack are to come back to the ball—  Gallo getting a touch was baffling. Classic example of putting Gallo (a bad free throw shooter lately) in a position to fail. 

It is also hard to overstate how bad that timeout and inbound was. I rewatched the end and we broke huddle and clearly six guys thought they were going in. Then the PnR is done incorrectly by both Rice and Malik, trapping Rice in the corner for a contested shot. This is stuff that gets fixed/installed in August. Ours guys don’t get coached. 
 

Long winded way of saying, yea probably anyone else in charge and that’s a win lol

Serious question - Have teams ever brought someone in from the outside to be interim coach for a mid-season firing? If so, I've missed it. I always seen them give the position to an assistant coach. 

Don't Kenya Hunter and Yasir Rosemond both have the title of Associate Head Coach? I would think one of those two would be the default choice for interim HC.

The idea of bringing someone in during a season is just nuts. That would hinder any search and doubtful a coach would want to come in and fix a team without having any time to implement their own structure or coaching staff. 
 

An assistant will run it out and a true search will occur on March if not sooner.

Different sport, but Colts brought in Jeff Saturday and it went exactly how you'd expect. IU isn't going to do that though. That's why I believe Woodson will coach through the remainder of the season with an announcement that he is stepping down at the end. Before yesterday I believed that announcement was going to come near the end of the year, possibly before the last game. Now, I think it could come here in the next week or two, possibly before they play in Assembly Hall again.
