"If we get in a game and call something and somebody doesn’t know what they’re doing, it’s like, ****, I shouldn’t be coaching."

That's classic!  It would seem he watched the tape.

This from Painter is all you need to know about why Purdue is winning and we are not.  Compare this to Woodson's "our guys are still getting to know one another" last year.

Hammer and Rails had an interesting piece about IU/Purdue. Don't know that I agree about their view of how we recruit/don't recruit the state however. I think we just suck at recruiting the state. They seemed to believe that IU believes they're above recruiting the state

Obviously, Mike Woodson thinks that he’s above it.

Only difference was IU did offer him and was about to get a commitment from him and then Anderson and Hunter committed the next day and Henry went elsewhere

I remember Hunter committing the next day but knew that he was coming in a year after Henry.  Forgot about Anderson.  I do recall that it LOOKED like there was going to be a log jam at small forward and that although IU had looked at Henry, wasn't sure they had actually offered.

Man, Damezi Anderson.  Funny thing is scouts LOVED him.  I recall asking someone that had seen him play that season about him and they liked him but they said he was surrounded by immense amount of talent (they won their first 26 games before losing to Carmel at Semi-State, I believe).  Blake Wesley (Notre Dame and now the Spurs) was a freshman on that team and there were at least two other seniors alongside Anderson that played D1.

Damezi was advertised as a great shooter but he couldn’t hit a thing.

I don't know what he shot as a high school senior, but his three point shooting percentage went down each of his first three years of high school -- from 43, to 38, to 35% from three.  I know he averaged 24 ppg as a junior (Riley really pushed tempo and averaged like 75 as a team).

Hunter was the same year as Henry he just had to red shirt his freshman year when he got there

I believe he did.

So did Matt Painter.

From Matt Painter…“I grew up a diehard Indiana fan,” he said. “If Bob Knight would have offered me, it just would have been over.” I was disappointed when he when he went to Purdue.  I thought he could have helped IU at that time.

Hunter was 51st in the 247 rankings for 2018 and still is playing college basketball today.  lol
It's ridiculous 25 year olds playing against 18 year olds. Provably need an age limit. 23 and your done

Longtime lurker here.

Kind of.  I have some perspective here as my kid grew up with Braden and we were around the Westfield program.

His mom was Miss Basketball in Arkansas and met his Dad at Arkansas Tech.  His Dad grew up in Kokomo area (I think played at Western) and then Ark Tech.  Braden lived most of his life in Indiana.  I believe he liked the Crean Zeller teams as a kid but I never saw him in any IU gear.  A lot of MSU gear tho.  My son laughed when I told him people said he was a big IU fan.
He was smaller and played for his Dad’s AAU team on a lower circuit instead of Indy Heat (which he could have), thus the lack of early HM offers.  He also popped for Purdue before the summer of his senior year, where I think he would have garnered plenty of HM offers.  Belmont was the first offer and he was telling people he was going to go there (until Purdue offered).  He did an unofficial to IU for the PSU game before the world shut down.  Lander was there too and then committed soon after.  Plenty of people were telling Archie the kid was special- smartest player and one of the best passers I’ve seen in Indiana HS basketball.  It wasn’t hard to figure out and Painter has admitted as much once he saw his tape.

Anyway, enough about a Purdue player and back to firing this clown that is torpedoing our program into the ground.

I am not the official welcoming committee, but welcome to the board!

If he had come to IU…… he could have been decent coach at IU! lol

"You people would have just run him off before he got it going if he coached at IU."  -Haterz, Probably

Welcome aboard. I’ll let you know where to drop off the membership 6 pack.

I remember officiating some of his AAU games and you could tell he could play.

I thought it was a 12 pack, and my house please!  Anyhow, you are still doing dry January

Tonight was the last night. But I came home after work, cleaned the house, did all the laundry, gathered up all the trash and may or may not be sitting down with a cold beverage since it’s Purdue Eve.
