Even if it would clearly be in everyone’s best interest, especially Indiana University, to let him go now?  WOW.

I’m not surprised Cathy.  In my 8 years at IU I had interactions with a lot of high ranking professors, Provost Robel, etc.  I knew people very close to McRobbie.  People on this board would fall over if they knew just how inept this people are.  I’m not sure I met a single IU employee who could last a week in the private sector.

I think your first paragraph is a subjective one, but everyone can decide that through their own lens. But the culture of decision-making at IU is ingrained to such a degree that changes do not happen quickly, nor do they happen without input from people who often don’t have the slightest idea about what’s going on. Been that way for years all over the University and definitely been that way in the athletic department. Quite a few good coaches have come out of it but some really bad or ill-placed ones have resulted from it, too. I know it drives people here and everywhere nuts, but it isn’t changing anytime soon, in my opinion.

Do you think Dolson needs a 8 hr grueling intervew with Dusty May? Do you think there isn't already or won't be backchanneling going on with his agent or the obligatory reaching out to BS before seasons end?

Of course not, which means there’s no contractual reason to fire Woodson today.

I'm definitely not trying to drag this out and sorry if it has already been officially established, but did she 100% say he is gone at the end of the year, or is it just assumed? Asking for a friend.

No, I did not say that. In my opinion, he will be done when the season ends, but I haven’t heard one person say that decision has been made.

My interpretation is that she’s laughing at guys like @Chris007 and @ap2345 who have this board thinking Mike Woodson is coaching on some game to game basis. She’s ending all speculation to that.

I think Dolson and May have an existing relationship so hopefully in his case its just Scotty D shooting him a "u in?" text lol

Hey now, if you're gonna start stealing my parody lines, you're gonna have to pay a ghostwriter fee...

Firing him midseason gives the program a chance to move on from a coach they clearly isn’t the right fit.   Team is still talented enough to make a run and  if it was the coach that was holding them back.  It would give the program a chance to salvage the season for the players.   Not happening but that would be the good I see.

Firing him midseason establishes optics that the University is serious about an immediate change and new direction.

Guys---You're reading way too much into this.
All Cathy is saying is that Mike Woodson is going to coach out the remainder of the season before the university parts ways and announces a new coach hence the "official process". She's not doing anything but dispelling rumors and speculation that he's going to be replaced mid-season.
Pretty obvious.
That's not what some want to hear so they resort to attacking her. I want Woodson gone now, but I'm not going to stoop to the level of attacking posters who say it won't happen until the end of the year.

I think the main problem on here is that to many actually believed there were talks about firing Woodson after Illinois game. When this doesn't happen then people go with the mob mentality and lash out towards the wrong people. You are lashing out to Dolson and the administration for not firing him right now when that was never the plan.

Opposing team fans are making signs and chanting for us to keep Mike Woodson.
He has a winning record overall, 5-5 in conference play.
Jim Larranaga took Miami to a F4 not long ago and was retired at the start of the season.
We're not serious in the slightest way. We like internal politics too much at IU to get stuff done.
Honestly I think we are less serious than we have ever been. This is an incredible low point for the program but the admins are going to give him that full four years cause archie got it.

She is not ending speculation of that at all.

She is antagonizing people frustrated by bad basketball through her dripping condescension about processes and stakeholders, lol.

The people on this board would be in a tizzy and want him removed mid-season regardless of what any posters here write. We have multiple blow out losses under Woodson every year. People didn't even want him to get a 4th year, of course they're going to want him gone before it's over. Coming here to say that's not going to happen isn't a revelation, it's just a reminder to not care too much about IUBB, because they're currently not a serious organization.

Yep, she is trolling.  I’ll admit she is very good at it.

I agree. More generally though, I like Pitino’s suggestion of doing the handshake before the game. Feels less potential to get messy

With all this talk about handshake line, didn’t Woody and Underwood call off the handshake line? After the skirmish at the end of the game, I think I saw them go up to each other and turnaround and call the players off.
