Why are you making this about race? Woodson is a horrible coach - lazy, arrogant and stuck in the '80s. He doesn't recruit. He staffs his team with the portal because his buddies lined up $6M in NIL funding. He treats the other Indiana athletic teams as if they are beneath him... and he schedules cupcake after cupcake after cupcake. Fire his @$$ tonight and end this charade.

The “compromise” by Dolson to let this go down this way saved us some good cash on the buyout. Lot of litigation today. Make no mistake about it, this was not Woody’s decision to retire.

Regardless of the results, I do not think Woodson will stop playing Ballo and Reneau together.  I think in Woody's mind, he is coming back until he doesn't want to.  In that case, he wants to keep Reneau happy so that he'll come back next year.

I also say that having no doubt that he has had a discussion with Buckner and Dolson at this point indicating that he would be 'retiring' at the end of the year.  But narcissists gonna narcissist.

Yeah it's questionable because he missed after illinois but they were making sure to let us know this time it isn't woodsons fault

It’s not gonna be Dusty May guys. He will be coaching while we are trying to fill 11 scholarships through the transfer portal.  
 

Dolson will have his work cut out for him.  Just not sure who can get a 1 year flip.  We definitely need a coach with some enthusiasm and some general intellect to read and react during a game.

We’re Indiana. After we spend 750k on a search firm we’ll have our pick of warmed over leftovers. We could have Chris Mack, or Brownell or maybe even an Archie Miller.  
 

Championships right around the corner next year.

I don't think it was by a large enough margin, but I think the "We Want Woodson" chants won't go unnoticed at all.

If you are so inclined, join me in a prayer to the basketball gods that our calls are answered on Friday evening/Sunday morning with an announcement that he is done at the end of the season (if not sooner... though I don't expect that...) 

Probably a 1% chance but I'll be checking the news at 5pm ish Friday. I'll still hold out hope until about 10AM Sunday.

I don't think he'll want to endure another game like ILL.

And I think he'd like the idea of a "retirement tour" type send off in AH all season.

What do you mean 'just finished top 5'?  You mean three years ago?  I'm sorry, but finishing fifth in the league one time three years ago doesn't buy anyone any time.

In terms of 'is Indiana going to fire a black goach'.....get out of here.  Made the tournament and never advances past the round of 64 with Indiana's NIL money is an epic failure.  Compare his resume to Mike Davis.  Davis went to the tournament four times in six years and had actual tournament success -- championship game and won first round games in two other years.

You have to hope that it's such a laughing stock they're forced to make a change. 

A man with any sense of shame would take the opportunity to retire and gracefully step away. 

It does make me question his "obvious" love for IU when he just so clearly is not able to get results nor putting in a commensurate amount of work/effort. It's the same mistakes every time. Same lack of preparation. It's old. Hard to watch. 

This pretty much sums up the entire 4-year nightmare. It was a bad idea from the start... and you've nailed where it ends.

Brad Stevens or any coach with D1 HC experience other than Woody...

Shoot, maybe walk into the gym of some of the best Indiana HS teams and interview their coaches over Woody next year...
