Dusty May's agent is probably lighting up like a Christmas Tree right now just as Bruce Pearl's agent was last year. We get taken to the cleaners every cycle and never learn.

I see you have moved on to step 2 of the "I was dead wrong to keep supporting the current coach but can't just come straight out and say that" playbook.

Yes, yes...Woodson has to go but we won't get anybody because pressure, fans, rubes, etc.

IU plays in the B1G.  They will not have any problem finding a coach wanting the job.   Most good college coaches have huge egos who think they will fix the problem.   They will not be scared off by the noise.   You get back up to plate and swing again and hope you hit some doubles and those doubles turn into triples or homers.   Is the noise loud at IU?   Yep but that won’t matter to most coaches.   Honestly the bar has been set so low by the past 2 coaches it won’t take much to get the fans back in good graces.

Some really bad ones do too.

Confirmed that yesterdays meeting of that committee was not about what we hoped it would be about.

Yeah, I could be wrong, but I'd be surprised if that committee was charged with advising on the termination of an athletic coach as a general matter.

Listening to DD today and he said he got 3 text last night from a former player, a former golf coach and two friends who sits a couple of rows behind the bench.

The former player was a player that DD has never met but did say he won while at IU. This player just went off on this team and the culture around this program. Called the players entitled and lazy and only plays for themselves. DD read the whole conversation between the two but can't remember everything he said. I was trying to figure out who this player is, he said he was an African American and not from this area of the country. If DD didn't know him so it would have to be a player before DD got there or after he left IU. I would have a hard time thinking this was a player during Woodson's playing career because they would possibly friends. If it was after he left then I can't think of many who won much after he left. I wonder if it was a player from 2002 because they actually won something.

The former golf coach was at the Bahamas tournament and said the players were pretty much trying to run the huddle and not listening to the coaches. He also stated that Rice is a child and can't win with him.

The two friends said the vibe around the UI game was a strange. He said walking into AH had no juice and just walking around the concourse there wasn't any either. Also that inside AH right before the game there wasn't your normal atmosphere.

Agreed. I too am a prof and know much about faculty governance at the campus level. This committees governance authority lies probably more along the lines of athletics academic compliance.

Right. If there was some huge academic scandal or something, I could see that. Or even a Knight type scenario. But just a run of the mill, early termination for under performance probably wouldn't require faculty approval. I'm sure Dolson would eventually discuss it with the committee after the fact, though.

Yesterday we had 37 in 10 hours.  KathyC accounted for 36 of them.

Post-smackdown punctuality is a strong suit for her.

I tell you what though. If there happens to be some sort of academic issues with this team, we fire Woodson for cause. Zero excuse. I highly doubt any of these players are double majoring in chemical engineering and computer science. It’s all “sports management” and “jazz appreciation studies”. I love jazz and sports but ain’t none of these guys having to put in 80 hours studying.

Reality check folks. I have been on here long enough to realize certain posters live in fantasy land half the time. The time to get dusty may was last season. I am sorry but the odds of getting him now are really poor. Why is his contract buyout low? The reason is he was a risk and michigan wanted to be conservative. Him and michigan also knew if he proves himself a new contract will be offered towards the end of this season and he will stay there. Michigan isn't unc kentucky but it's also a pretty successful basketball school. I love the insiders on this board want to make that clear and their posts are my favorite. That being said here is the other Reality imo. The iu administration are either the dumbest people on earth or brad Steven's said wait another year and I will come to iu! That's it lol

Yes, MI will force Dusty's hand. He'll be approached with an extension and a much higher buyout before the season is over.
