Only reason I was discussing Fife at all was because someone hoped he was the coach in waiting and I was confused by that.

I can more than drop it though.

If we cover up rape? lol

Yeah, I'm moving on.

I love the fact that there are some very morally high standards for you and mamasa and I don't know where you work or what line of work you're in, but I highly doubt you would quite your job over something someone else did in your organization.  You may not have faith in them for being a good person and you may look for a new job at some point, but I doubt you would just quit without having something else lined up.  Maybe he tried, maybe he didn't.  Maybe he even knew about it, but I don't know his specific circumstances when happened do you?

Sure man.

What line of work I'm in isn't relevant, you trying to cope this out is wild though.

Regardless of what kind of person Fife is... Fife's record at IPFW was 82-97.

Fire Mike Woodson

Any opinion on Florida's coach? Dudes got it going on in Gainsville right now. Is he going to get investigated?

Yea…if we kept Bob Knight. It didn’t work out that way and the 02 Team backed Davis.  Get over it. That was 23 years ago and our best team in 3 decades.

Knight's championship winning days were already behind him.

He threatened to transfer if we didn't choose the coach he wanted, how cream n crimson is that?

Dolson doesn't have to allow a damn bit of that. lol ... we don't need their money.

Technically, Dolson has zero control.  These are supposed to be independent deals without University interference.  If the Simons want to hire a kid to promote a mall, they can now do it.  Of course, in the real world .  .  .

I agree, hard to judge someone in this instance.

similarly, I worked for a company that I found was not paying vendors, not paying staff bonuses and was in major debt despite sharing otherwise and continuing to bring on more promises and debt. I felt icky but I have a family and needed that pay check so I stuck around for almost a year while I looked for a way out

I've quit places due to the behavior of those in charge a few times. Those places are no longer in business. Don't try to act like you know a damn thing about what I would or wouldn't do.

and Archie record at Dayton was

139–63 (.688) 68–34 (.667)

A lot of good that got us.

I never said the line of work you were in was relevant I said you would not just quit, and I stand by that.  Unless you are independent wealthy, you're not quitting your job over what someone else did.  You may move on after you find another job, but you are not just quitting.

I am not sure why you are so bent on me saying they had hoped he was the answer or not.  There are numerous opinions on here about coaches. I never said he would be the greatest coach ever or even a good coach.  I never met the man and never had any interactions with him so I can't tell you what type of person he is.  He just seemed like he had the right mindset when I listened to his interviews at the time he was hired.

I stand corrected having quit a job a few times is commendable.  You taught them all a good lesson.

Now let's fire Woodson and find the next great basketball coach for IU.

You could be right...I'm assuming though we would've had a very good chance of getting Oden, Conley, McRoberts and some of the other high end talent from the state in the early to mid 2000s.

That's not just on the head coach, it's on the assistant coaches as well. I wonder if there is any pattern for which assistant is responsible for the scouting of an opponent and how prepared/unprepared the team tends to be.

It’s on the entire team but in the end, the head coach is ultimately responsible

Listening to Dusty talk he just gets it, Woody not so much.

I was always going to question the Woodson hire but I could also see some of the benefits and generally I am a hope it works out type of guy.  I thought he presented some strengths through his NBA connections and was curious to see how that would parlay to Indiana.

Anyway, my “give up” moment was listening to Woodson compared to Painter on the Rothstein podcast.   Woody was very nonchalant and lacked enthusiasm and specifics.  Has a slow draw, etc. Painter on the contrary was very detail oriented.  Very quick to answer the questions.  Added foresight and consideration to how all things fit together etc.   Anyway, that was really the day that I doubted Woodson was ever going to be more than the sum of its parts.

This year, with a “hand picked” roster was the perfect testing grounds.  But it always looks more or less the same.  No matter who is where.
