I agree with everything except extending him with an E8 appearance. Our biggest failure over the last 20+ years is sustainment. Personally, I'll be elatedly shocked by an Elite 8 out of Woodson, but either way, he needs to show he can put together more than a good year here and there. He needs to show that he can build the program for yearly success, especially if he's going to depend so heavily on the portal.

Given how easy the preseason schedule is he should start the big ten at 12-1 or undefeated. There really is no excuse for not winning 25 games plus this year and making at least the sweet sixeteen.

Undefeated OOC would be great as there is a decent chance we will play the #5 and #9 teams in the country (assuming we beat Louisville) at the Atlantis tourney.

We only play 11 non conference games so I doubt we could go 12-1

we've been cold from the 3 pt arc for quite some time here at IU.  Let's see if this "new" offense makes us warm and fuzzy

Still don't have any shooters really.  Goode is a decent shooter not a great one.  That's why we won't go very far in the tournament.

3 instate kids, 2 of them have IU ties and you only get one. After the last 3 seasons. That's Fireable IMO if we don't make the sweet 16 this year

FWIW, Woody will never be 'fired.'

When the time and buyout are right, he will 'retire.'

Only landing one 2025 recruit in this class should be a criminal offense.  

Woody clearly excels in short term bag throwing (Portal, Mbakgo, Tucker).

But I think you have to start admitting there's an issue if he only gets one commit in this class.

Coach Cig has IU freaking football at 6-0 but people claimed we couldn’t fire Woodson after three years because “it takes time to build a program.” 

Serious coaches can transform a program overnight in the portal/NIL era. Coach Cig and Woodson are 3 years apart in age but 30 years apart in energy. We’d be far better off putting all that basketball NIL toward the football team as long as Mike Woodson is around. Throw some of Woodson’s salary Coach Cig’s way too.
