Fire Coach Woodson Thread

I'm beginning to think Woodson has some kind of psychological problem. I know his generation was taught that you never quit on a job, but that's a new low, even for him.

I'm still waiting for Woodson actually start coaching...

If Calbert was hesitant to take the interim head coach role before because he didn't want to seem disloyal, I would definitely doubt that he would do it now.  Kenya seems like the logical choice now.

The minimum requirement for interim tag is doing the handshake line. Congrats to Kenya and Walsh for making the cut!

We are starting our longest remaining in-season break. It’s now or after the season.

I do think he finishes the season, but there are a couple more reasonable windows to change:

-After Wisconsin. Likely on a 4 game losing streak, heading home to face Dusty May.

-After UCLA. We're projected to be 6-9 at that point, and 2-8 in our last 10. A 7 game losing streak is not out of the question. Over a week off after this game.

Calbert also has stated he does not have the desire to be a head coach.  Would think that goes doubly for interim.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but I was actually struck by how gently Luke turned him around and put his arm around him. It seemed very "get grandpa moving in the right direction" as apposed to "come on coach do the right thing."  I don't know, probably reading too much into it, but if you watch at how quickly Woody acquiesced and how gently he turned him around, it felt like more about taking care of him than Woody deliberately shunning the handshake line. Either way, its all just sad. The program is sad.

I had the same takeaway from it. Really odd interaction. Sad, uncomfortable, etc.

Agree. It looked like a move one would make with their 80 year old grandpa. Helping to gently guide him in the right direction because he was a little demented.

This game was almost worse for a few reasons than the beatdown by the illini, and other than the obvious coaching incompetence, that was one.
