I just posted this in the game thread 

I didn't know what the rule was regarding timeouts and saw this on another board.  

Rule 5, Section 11, Article 3 says, "When the game clock and shot clock are running, they shall be stopped when an official: Grants a player’s visual or oral request for a timeout when the ball is live or grants a coach’s request for timeout made when the ball is live in the last two minutes of the second period or the last two minutes of any overtime period."

Didn't need anyone on the court to call for a timeout, Woody could have done it from the bench.  Did he even know that he could?

Yeah, this is what I was thinking. I thought the coach could call a timeout. We had 2. Why didn't Woody just call a timeout?

A nice discussion with a lot of names mentioned here.  Goodman acts like he knows that Woody is gone at the end of the season.

Coaching malfeasance cost us the game last night.

Hatton should be the backup to Ballo. Make Reneau sit until he learns that his selfishness is hurting the team.

I agree that Rice should not have been the guy with the ball for the last possessions. I can see his mindset though. He was a major factor in our comeback v Maryland, and I think he wanted to play hero ball. It should have been Gallo, but that's what lousy coaching does. For Rice, he needs to sit, and only play when there are at least 3 starters on the floor, with the understanding that he is option #4. He does give us something neither Gallo or Leal possess, which is a quickness to blow by defenders. However he plays too out of control to be depended on.

Feel bad for the guys who played their hearts out last night. Feel angry that it took 2/3rds of the season for them to do so.

Players only meeting righted the ship a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, we don't have a TJD on this roster who combined the skill and respect of his teammates to lead the way. Closest guy that resembles this is Goode, and it's a shame that he was only a Hoosier for one year.

Finally, I think it is time that the players to tell Woodson to get out of the way. Let them run things with the help of Calbert and Hulls. Outcomes can't be any worse that what we are seeing.

This is why im a huge advocate of woody being fired asap, like after Illinois. We’re talented, we are talented enough to make the tourney if coached properly.

Yeah, but who would do that? CMW's ego made certain his staff was filled with yes men and inexperienced coaches. Fire Moe and you have to promote Larry or Curly, Shemp and Joe have no interest in the job.

Actually the last two games!  Both games we are down 1 with a final possession to win!  0-2, not good!

In coaching and in business that never works out!  You have to have diversity on your staff whose opinions you value and matter!  That’s exactly why this is a train wreck!  At the beginning, the staff consisted of that with Fife and Matta, but we all know what happened there and it was because of 1 guy didnt allow it.  Honestly, this hire was a long shot to work because he had no college experience and not much success in the NBA, but it may have had a slight if he would have accepted Fife and Matta in their roles and allow himself to learn and grow in that position.  But MW’s enormous ego got in the way, and no one tells Mike Woodson how to coach but Mike Woodson
