If Calbert was hesitant to take the interim head coach role before because he didn't want to seem disloyal, I would definitely doubt that he would do it now.  Kenya seems like the logical choice now.

Calbert also has stated he does not have the desire to be a head coach.  Would think that goes doubly for interim.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but I was actually struck by how gently Luke turned him around and put his arm around him. It seemed very "get grandpa moving in the right direction" as apposed to "come on coach do the right thing."  I don't know, probably reading too much into it, but if you watch at how quickly Woody acquiesced and how gently he turned him around, it felt like more about taking care of him than Woody deliberately shunning the handshake line. Either way, its all just sad. The program is sad.

I had the same takeaway from it. Really odd interaction. Sad, uncomfortable, etc.

Agree. It looked like a move one would make with their 80 year old grandpa. Helping to gently guide him in the right direction because he was a little demented.

This game was almost worse for a few reasons than the beatdown by the illini, and other than the obvious coaching incompetence, that was one.

It’s very distressing seeing the boos reign down in Assembly Hall. I hate seeing the players feeling all that come down on them. The way they argue with each other makes it very clear to me the locker room knows this is not working. It’s got to be frustrating for them too having Woody give the same canned responses to questions and make the same mistakes constantly. Goode and Ballo who have been in real programs are trying to make the best of this **** show. Seeing Woody need to be directed back to the handshake line and apparently beefing with Ya / getting yelled at by Malik as the boos keep getting louder was nuts. Why the hell are we doing this? Please, for the love of all that’s holy, announce this is over tomorrow.

I was the one who mentioned that Reanau was yelling at Woodson, but a different angle showed I was incorrect.  He was yelling at Rice because apparently the last play was supposed to be a PNR and he went the wrong way.

That said, Rice mentioned that players got confused because of the last second subbing.

Most (all) of these guys have played for HS or AAU coaches, and many have played for other P4 coaches - all of whom  know the game, know what they're doing, and can teach and develop skills... they have to see that the wheels are off at IU... can't be a good feeling for them, regardless of how much NIL they're getting. The change must come, but it's a truly sad situation for all involved.

That was the worst coaching to a finish of a game I have ever seen.

1  up two with less than 30 seconds to go and you know there going to have to foul you and you don’t put your best free throw shooters in.

2 have a foul to give and don’t use it.

3 call a time out to set up a play with 5.6 left  ball gets knocked out of bounds.

you then Put in two new players with 3.9 what the heck why didn’t you do that in the time out.

Did he change the play .
4 The cherry on top what the hell was that last play .

5 Fire Woodson NOW

Well if they were going to do it before the next game it would have to be tomorrow morning since the team will be traveling to Madison tomorrow afternoon I assume, or we can let Woody go get his @$$ whooped at the Kohl center first and do it before we get our @$$ whooped at Mackey
That's next week isn't it
