Why does it have to be televised on national TV?  Why can't we be relegated to the Food Network or maybe C-SPAN?  The Illini are (14-4) (5-2) and 10-2 at home.  Without Shannon maybe; with him back highly doubtful.

Another awkwardly worded statement from Woody tonight on his radio show.  "They're a different ballclub than from when we've played them in the past year. They basically play small basketball. And they force you to try to go small as well. But we can't do that. I got a 7-footer if he decides to play and I got Malik. So we gotta make them play us as well. They are playing well as a ballclub."

I think more than anything, that was just akward wording.  But you HAVE to be careful with your words when you are a coach.

Immediately prior to that statement, this is what he said about Ware (and even that was akwardly worded....he said Ware 'didn't play last year' when I believe he meant 'Ware didn't play much last year'):

"I'm very pleased with this kid because, again, he didn't play last year," Woodson said. "So this is really the first time he's been given some significant playing time. All the things that were said about him coming in were somewhat true, but he's responded to coaching and when you're young that's important. If you want to develop as a player, you've got to accept coaching and he's done that. He has improved based on his minutes and his stats so far, he's done a hell of a job for us. I think sky's the limit."

We’ve spent a week dunking on Woody, rightfully so in many cases, but he has had some successes. For all the things said about Ware coming into the season, I really haven’t noticed a lack of effort. It’s clear IU has done a better job with him than Oregon’s.

Hopefully he’s back healthy and finishes strong. We’ll need him if we have any chance of salvaging the season.

He might sit out the rest of the season to work on the NBA draft.
Would not surprise me at all. That's the risk of taking of ranked guys the NBA is their number one concern period.

Is there actual chatter about this? That would be disappointing, especially if Woody wouldn't adjust to go smaller and plugs Sparks in the starting lineup long term. No diss on Sparks, but I don't want him and Reneau clogging the lane.

Let's say he is out two or three weeks with his ankle. If we only have 6 or 7 games left after that and we are going nowhere he may say the heck with it and not risk further injury.

I truly don't think Woody meant it the way it sounded but he needs to be more careful.  Couple of his comments over the past couple of weeks could have/should have been worded differently.
Hard to say if ware is out vs illinois we are in big trouble. They will drive at will without our shot blocker
