I don't see anyway we are not better, maybe significantly, next year. We now have an organized, process oriented coach with a staff he is familiar with. He is filling holes with players who have been successful already and expect to be successful going forward. I expect disciplined, fundamentally sound football next year. We might lose games because the opponent is just better, but I don't expect to lose games because we beat ourselves.

Yes, yes, yes!

He wants to win year one. He's setting up a solid foundation to do that. This isn't a rebuild.

That is music to every IU fans ears. Of course, the rest of the Big 20 will have something to say about that, but not apologetically slinking into a season is a good start.

I think the next couple of years are crucial for Coach Cignetti and the Hoosier Football program. I'm not saying he has to win the Big Ten, but he is obviously peaking the interest of players and if he could raise the level of play enough in these next two years, IU might attract enough talent to actually start building a pretty decent football program! But if he falls flat (I don't see this happening) IU will quickly fall back to a hard sell for top recruits, and the mediocrity will continue! Was mediocrity to generous a word?

Way too generous for a historically bad program.

Dream job….worst thing that can happen (barring any criminal activity) is walk away with several $millions regardless of performance or become a legend by one more win than loss during coaching tenure.

Could be perceived that way…however, reality is yet to be determined.
