Alford Bailey Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Not sure a 3 seed vs 4-5 seed makes much difference with these guys. Quote

Sounds like this one is on the players and maybe whoever had scout, unless it really was that poorly executed. That may be the case considering how they came out of halftime. Idk the real answer but it appeared that maybe Kenya had the scout as he was standing next to Woody most of the game. IUHoosier5 and Chris007 2 Quote

We’re a top 5 seed in the tournament. Sometimes I wonder if I need to get a grip myself. Nah, just visit a game thread after a loss. The ability to just entirely lose the plot is off the charts. At least be consistent and own it!! I’m guessing he has been busy on the Rhode Island board telling them to keep the faith. Their fans might be bummed because they didn’t win a game in February (0-7) but they don’t fully appreciate the 4+ years it takes to learn the packline. NashvilleHoosier 1 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 @Rutger, @Kansas, @PSU, and Iowa we flat out didn't compete. That includes a game early, middle, and late in the schedule. Roughly 17% @Iowa, Northwestern, @Minny, @Maryland, @Northwestern, and @Michigan St. we had halves we forgot to compete. That's roughly another 11% of games. We're one game shy of completing the regular season and in ~28% of the time on the floor we looked like we're cool with just taking the beating. That's concerning and not the baseline I was hoping would be set with a veteran team in Woodson's second season. The wins have been absolutely fantastic. The laying of turds not so much. IUHoosier5 Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 We will all forget about this game come tourney time. That being said, we might all be sick if Purdue does lose their next two games. RaceToTheTop 1 Quote
bleedhoosier Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Tonight is why I don't lose time in life watching games live anymore. Always recorded and watched at 32x unless it looks halfway close. Missed about 10 games this year.. no recording because really, who cares anymore. Purdue was cool but until we actually make a run in the dance, what is there to be excited about? Maybe it's just a hobby that has faded on me now. Gotta go eat my feelings lol Jeff Flabjohns 1 Quote

Do you blame Woody or the players he is coaching? I think he is stuck between a rock and hard place because of TJD. We all know the stats, but the motor/drive was/is questioned now by some and a lot during his recruitment! This team goes as TJD goes. If this was JHS team, I think it might be a different story. Go ahead crucify me now! Quote

Build around Renau, Banks and Gunn plus the portal Are you saying the staff has directly said that to JG, Bates and Duncomb? I agree with the assessment and also won’t be surprised if 2/3 or 3/3 don’t come back. I’d add Trey to the Renau, Banks and Gunn nucleus. Quote

TheWatShot Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Before this game, I thought we had a realistic chance to win the Big Ten tournament. Now that we'll likely be playing Thursday, we can probably forget about it. The Big Ten tournament has been around for ~25 years and I think only three teams won it that had to play four games. There's just such a huge difference in having to win 4 games instead of 3. Banksyrules 1 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 You'd like to think that after this sh*theap of a performance, we'd go out and kick some a$$ on Sunday. But with this team -- I can see the same thing happening all over again. Maybe not to the tune of a 22-point beatdown (and let's be honest, it wasn't even that close), but getting handled by 15 or so. This team just doesn't seem to care if it gets embarrassed like this. colonel06 and Banksyrules 2 Quote
IUHoosier5 Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Yeah, still hope and wish Gunn stays. He didn’t figure it out this year, and that’s ok. No one expected him to come in and play right away. Just hope he has patience. Quote
Alford Bailey Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Woody is pissed because he started cautioning against the letdown in the locker room at Mackey and the guys didn’t listen. I call Tamar Bates to the portal after the season str8baller 1 Quote
