We could probably attract someone like Sean Lewis. He did a good job at Kent St. Won their first bowl game ever in 2019.

This is my dream, but what he’s doing at Colorado probably makes him one of the top names in the carousel.

PJP was a legitimately great IUFB follow for a long time. Advanced stats, game previews/breakdowns, etc. They announced last year that life had got in the way and they were done covering the team like they had been. 

It appears that, while life may have got in the way, they’re also just done with the Tom Allen Era lol. Not a parody account, but a parody blog post for sure. Their blurb about Allen’s “blocking” seems to be poignant as well.

I would say its satire. For heaven's sake; he applauded CTA for letting Walt Bell go so he can have more time with his newborn child.

The guy came back from a year hiatus just to write this.

If T.A. continues as head coach how many significant IU players go to transfer portal??? And musical chairs begin…for lack of talent trade-ins.  
 

I guess some may stay rather than set out a year due to second transfer.  (Sadly, some players may have lost their love for the game and feel like just quitting after just getting pummeled every weekend after putting in all the time and effort).

IU has significant football players?  The new guy gonna have a big job in front of him either way to be competitive.

Listen I understood the contract being offered. IU with a bad history of playing football finds itself in national conversation during covid. Because we were so bad you have to take chances to secure a good coach before he gets snagged somewhere else.  I get that.  

HOWEVER. It didn't work out and quite frankly I would rather employ a genius "student manger" than keep going with a coach that has lost his team and the fans.  Everything is dependent on how well the basketball  team does these next two years before fire the AD for malpractice. Just fire the guy as a sign of acknowledgment that it was a failed experiment. Not that hard.  

If they don't fire him, I honestly don't know how they're going to regain the trust of Alumni boosters that they're at least trying to put the best product on the field.

Allen should donate his salary to DeBoer and Penix. Clearly their talent and coaching overshadowed his inability to run a program.

At this point, not firing Tom Allen could cost the athletic program more than firing him. If we wait another year the program will be an even bigger rebuild and will be less attractive. Also, we need a national search which means no Carey promotion or Fuente promotion.

I don’t see how he doesn’t return. Unfortunately his buyout is astronomical. I think it drops to a more reasonable level in Dec ‘24.
