I'll believe when it is official. I will also support him until he no longer deserves my support as I would any one they hire.
I wanted Stevens, Oats or the other homeruns mentioned. I knew BS was a fantasy. It looked like the others were happy where they were at.
After that, I really didn't care who they hired. Past results do not necessarily equal future results. I understand past results can be a pretty good predictor.
If the rumors are correct and Matta is on the staff also, I'm good.

Never said I hated the program. I love the program, just not very excited for this questionable hire.

I’m not a Carmelo guy but like you said he won a college title. He was team USA leading scorer. Basically he succeeded with god coaching and was just a stats guy with not so good. 
 

He had his most team success with the Knicks under Woodson.

I think Woodson will be a great, (and tough) coach for TJD. Who better to relate what todya's NBA is really like (other than his father, who's been out of the NBA for quite a while)

His dad should be able to inform TJD on what kind of coach he is

What other choice is there? I love the program and want to see it be a winner again. All there is to do now after expressing the initial disappointment is to get on board

Just trying to use some common sense as far as your other points, though. You don’t think an older NBA guy is going to come in here with a “win-now” attitude? And Matta can absolutely help. He doesn’t just lose his coaching/AAU contacts by not coaching for a few years. 

Devils advocate, but players don't exactly commit because of the assistant coaches unless your dad is the assistant - like at Oregon State and USC. Will Matta get Woodson's foot in the door? Certainly. But it's still on Woodson to land the player with his philosophy and sales pitch.

With how wrong I was on the Allen hire, I'm willing to let this play out, but I don't think people are out of line to be disappointed.
