Popular Post Hornsby Posted March 16 Popular Post Posted March 16 The last two coaches we had didn’t have any P4/5 coaching experience. I fear that our hopes and dreams are just that. And that these “reports” about Brownell, McCollum and Devries are closer to the truth. That would be depressing af. I could manufacture a narrative of hope around McCollum’a history of winning at D2. But I would have hoped IU would go after a Wade/Beard level coach. If we pass on wade and beard to hire mccollum I mean it's just typical iu. There is a reason we do this every four years.Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk FWA-EVV, Huntnfreak, BGVille Hoosierfan and 6 others 7 2
Popular Post WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 16 Popular Post Posted March 16 This has been the most troll-ish coach search of all time. If it’s legitimately McCollum, Devries, Brownell people are gonna be very disappointed in Dolson. IU will then have a long off-season to do what they do best, and sell the fanbase on how great we will be. 90% will eat it up.Rinse and repeat. However, a huge part of me really thinks Dolson has something surprising on deck. Continue to hold out hope for that. TheWatShot Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Did I miss something on DeVries? I hadn't seen anything about him anywhere and just within the last few minutes I've seen 3 different posters mention him.

While I agree Rabby has seemed in the dark, I’m certain he’d have heard some rumors on Stevens. He's heard the rumors but doesn't believe them. When it comes to the candidates' names that we've heard from national reporters like Thamel and Goodman, that's essentially the entirety of his hot board. Which leads me to believe he doesn't have any sources within the athletic department proper and is basing his reporting on the coach/agent side. Unlike past coaching searches he's covered, such as in 2021 or 2017, he appears totally locked out of this by Dolson. I'm not saying we're getting Stevens. But based on what I've seen and heard from folks who appear to have some form of inside info, there's a ton of positive buzz around this hire. Which is a stark contrast from the doom and gloom on Peegs. Clearly there's an information gap. We will see who is better informed here shortly. I would think that although they might enter portal they would still like to see who the incoming coach might be if they might warnt to stay and play( if wanted).

They would’nt be invited anyways. They have to be top 2 remaining teams in NET rankings and they are third. Plus a new coach will not coach a group of 6 players he doesn’t know just to play in a tourney that means nothing. I don’t buy it eddy4iu 1

There was a lot of things he either 1) wasn’t sharing or 2) didn’t know about that I thought he should. All the way up until that last week when he came out saying IU was getting the last visit and I already knew Hurley and crew were coming in on Friday. Ever since then I’ve wondered in my head how much stuff he’s either not getting or not reporting. Take that for what it’s worth. I would agree that he withholds stuff. I also think if a Stevens hire happens and he pours water all over it, it hurts the site’s credibility. Thus, I don’t think BS is happening. J34 1
