Pearl and auburn have lost 3/4. Mark him off the list.

I think winner of the national championship games gets the Indiana job. Whether that’s by reward or punishment will be decided by social media.

“Will Wade wants the IU job above all other openings but can’t even get an interview” is not evidence of an incompetent search, it’s evidence that the search is complete

Well, that depends on who the guy at the end of the completed search is. It could entirely still be the sign of an incompetent search.

Indiana self reported some extra phone calls and got rid of him. Now he’s at Houston and they’re ranked in the top 10 every single year while we are on the bubble every single season

Yes, after serving a 5 year show cause penalty... how many NCAA titles has he won at Houston? Ironically, the same number as Indiana during the same time frame.

He broke the rules at Oklahoma and Indiana still hired him... then he did it again... so yeah, we cut him loose.

That wasn't what you said... You said "there's a difference" between not hiring and passing on a hire. I need you to explain the difference... instead of doing that, you made it about my personal bias. Admittedly, I don't want either of those guys, but that is irrelevant to what you said.

My point remains, neither Kentucky or Louisville hired Beard or Wade, so there had to be a reason beyond my "own personal bias". Stop being pedantic.

You know damn well you know the difference.  Own your comments or keep quiet pops.

I’ll see you in four years when we are hiring another coach then. I’m sure beard will be at North Carolina or Kansas by then.

He won’t.  Louisville and Kentucky passed in the guy.

No I don't... my point is there isn't a difference, but you said there was... you can't defend it so you tell me to keep quiet?

and getting off my lawn.

While I find your outlook generally way too negative, this is spot on.

No one will ever accuse me of being an optimist, but in the case of IU basketball, I think my IU fandom being entirely post-Knight warrants the extreme negativity. We’ve seen the IU administration make bad decision after bad decision for the better part of 25 years, and the rumors we’ve been hearing don’t give me much hope that this decision will be any different.

If you need an explanation you won't understand the explanation.  I'm not wasting my time.  Just don't hit anybody on the way to the early bird special.

He made some extra phone calls. And how many games has he won at Houston compared to Indiana in that time frame? lol do you think Kentucky or Kansas would of self reported some extra phone calls in the middle of final four caliber season like our stupid administration did?

He’s won 78% of his games at Houston and made at least the sweet 16 in each of the last five tournaments. IU has four sweet 16 appearances in the past 30 years. You don’t hire a guy like Sampson in the first place if you’re just going to execute yourself at the first sign of trouble, yet that’s exactly what IU did.
