Whenever we lose yes it will be. It's distant but I think I see white smoke coming from the Vatican.

I don’t think that smoke is coming from the Vatican. I think it’s coming from this dumpster fire that’s going on at 1001 E 17th St, Bloomington, IN 47408.

I like that Dolson isn't afraid to get in there and get his hands dirty!

I was fine till sixty and then it was like the Time to pay for everything you ever did physically switch was activated.

Sounds like I've only got a few good years left.

Candidates aside, Dolson has to see how much of a dumpster fire it would be to retain Archie. I’ve never seen the fanbase more done with a coach because of results. This is one of, if not the, worst 4 year stretches in our entire history. To retain him would tell me Dolson has no pulse on this program and that he’s just another yes man. It would get soooo ugly. I just don’t see how he stays.

So if it is said that once we lose Archie will be done, is it safe to say at this point Dolson has his replacement lined up? Or will he still be working on it?

I'd guess he's still working on it unless their is something surprising going on behind the scenes.

If Scott is going to fire Archie without a good idea of who the next coach is then we're screwed.

I don’t know anyone who’s still riding with Archie at this point. I had friends who still wanted Crean at the end of the 2017 season. Most wanted him gone but he still had a solid contingent supporting him. Archie, though, has no one. No results to point to. He just has his buyout.

There's no way CAM is getting canned with no solid replacement lined up. That would only be the case, in my opinion, if CAM had a violation and they had to get rid of him immediately. Succession planning probably started 4 weeks ago if Dolson is doing his job.

Strongly disagree. It'd be better if he had a great candidate lined up, but no one is a guarantee and if it's time, it's time.

yeah I would say this rarely happens where a candidate is lined up. Now I think Dolson needs to have an idea of interest level from potential candidates. But nobody is going to be a guarantee until there is an actual opening and real discussions happen.

Agreed, and the clock is well past midnight. I’m beginning to agree with Treesh that you may see a “mutual agreement to part ways” with a reduced buyout instead of an outright “firing”. It would be better optics for all parties involved.

Only reason I asked if Dolson already has someone lined up is because if it was a matter of Archie coming out saying himself he wanted out, Dolson could have not had someone lineup up yet when those discussions were made...so if Archie walks, I would wonder if Dolson had to then start talking to candidates. I just figured that’d be different than Dolson knowing he’s firing him and has already lined up who he wants. I guess that would all depend on if Chris007 thinks he’s getting fired or mutually agreeing to walk, based off him thinking his next loss will be his last game.
