Popular Post MaynardaHoosier Posted March 6, 2025 Popular Post Posted March 6, 2025 @normandale97 You're dead to me. Wait... too soon? I'm curious to know what's considered a big name. Brad is one of the shorter names in the conversation. T.J. is a really small name. Am I doing this right? I'm convinced it is Stevens and May is coming as his assistant until someone proves otherwise. thebigweave, raorIU, HoosierSadaseci and 10 others 1 12
DSUMMITT Posted March 6, 2025 Posted March 6, 2025 (edited) Oddly IUFB isn't the only one mentioning BS on the other board. I won't do it... I won't be hurt again... I feel like me and Brad have an abusive relationship, he's a giant tease and I just keep believing there could be more. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app Idk man, dude has been pretty straight forward and honest. Also has some connections via the IUFB team so he may be telling us exactly what he knows. I appreciated him giving honest and forthright info a few hundred pages back. thebigweave, sixseis and kottke 3

So it’s a lot of interpretation and guessing. You could be BS'ing all of us and if so shame on me but you've been the most reasonable and (seemingly) brutally honest person with sources on this. Only question I have is what constitutes a "big name" from your perspective because that's incredibly subjective? Is McDermott a big name? Schertz? You get my point. kottke and thebigweave 2
rcbowla Posted March 6, 2025 Posted March 6, 2025 If Norm is right it would lead me to believe it's a Huss, Schertz or McCollum. Those all are or have the potential to be available when we inevitably lose in conference tournament. I still don't see Dolson announcing anyone until the season is done, done though. spe317 1

Do you really believe Dolson would fire a coach only to bring in (checks clipboard ) Schertz?? Really? I’ve got one name. Brad. He’s coming home JustWinBaby, SlammySammy, Hoosier987 and 3 others 6

Did @normandale97 say to think of it like college football bowl season? Meaning the coaches team could make it to the tourney, but the coach peaces out before to take the IU job, or the coach is announced, but will remain with his currwnt team through the tourney. I'm not saying this is the case, just that I thought that's something the poster mentioned as a possibility.

Honestly I'd be fine with all three getting a shot but in order it'd be: Schertz, McCollum and then Huss. Not the sexy hire but could end up being the best hire. Plenty of examples where this would be the case. thebigweave, BannerVille, BGleas and 5 others 8
Popular Post rcbowla Posted March 6, 2025 Popular Post Posted March 6, 2025 I get folks wanting the big time name hire but there are more examples of the lesser name becoming the big time name because they got their opportunity. I also understand, very much so, the trepidation we the fan base have with going with said lesser name. Thanks a lot Archie. I just honestly think the lesser name then becoming big time is the more typical approach in CBB. Just have to identify the right traits in a coach. Therefore, either you trust Dolson or you don't and I am not 100% sure either way. Ryno6284, Scotty R, JustWinBaby and 8 others 9 2

It always starts with the 1st one though.
rcbowla Posted March 6, 2025 Posted March 6, 2025 And for the record I'm not taking this dude's word as the gospel truth. As far as I'm concerned everyone is an option unless they sign another deal or say no like May and Stevens.

You're in denial if you think it wouldn't get mentioned in the very, very, very unlikely case that he gets hired so if they don't know about it now, they will. You're also wrong about how many would overlook domestic violence. But he won't be hired so we won't find out. It's mentioned but that's it. Just like his hire at ole Miss, he was mentioned and now it's over with. Very view people actually know he was involved in something, even fewer know he was arrested and charged. Even fewer know the charges were dropped, and very very few have actually read the police report. Sanctimonious. He's not some monster wife beater you all want to make him out to be. Home Jersey 1

It's one thing when the coach of Texas has strong DV allegations and even loses his job over it... but it's quite another when it's the coach at your school. How many times has he been arrested for drinking or had articles written about him for drinking? You all forget that internet sports message boards account for a few % of the fanbase and not everything you read on them is true.
