McCollum has dominated (yes at D2 level and only 1 year at Drake) but man it's been an impressive run. Wade, while he had issues with level 1 violations at LSU, the sport has changed drastically since those issues took place. I think given the resources and open check book that IU has, either one would thrive here at IU. Why does quietness mean it’s not going to be a top tier guy? Why would any top tier coach want it being discussed that he may leave whatever school he’s at? The fact that we fans aren’t getting our urge to know scratched doesn’t mean the news will be bad. Or not as good as we hoped. pumpfake, woodenshoemanHoosierfan, Hollywood Mike Miranda and 6 others 7 2

So basically were just living the alternate reality of 2021 , where instead of Mike Woodson being forced on SD, he would have fallen back on Porter Moser ......... gotcha . He said something very similar about Cig when he hired Cig. So he was not referring to Cig's level of experience. dwtaylor1055 1

He's been on the board since then but has not answered. While I don’t know how strong Road to Zion’s source is, at this point I am pretty confident that he is flat out predicting that Brad Brownell with be the next coach of the Hoosiers. Definitely not Brownell………. J34, lillurk, Kentuckysucks and 32 others 25 10

I’ve really warmed to McCollum after watching their last 6 games or so, I think slow offense has us all getting flashbacks of Archie and pounding it inside over and over with MW. The Drake offensive movement is very pleasing and almost always leads to a good look. I also would expect Dolson to surround him with the people needed to make a transition like this. Hell, he tried for Woody who ran them off. I’m sure McCollum knows where he needs help adjusting and I would trust Dolson to make it happen. I’d be pretty excited to see who the assistants/GM would be with that hire. JPCIVOP, 8bucks, sirhoosierlot and 10 others 13

RoadRage Posted March 10 Posted March 10 I can't see Dolson basically firing Woody midseason for McCollum, Wade, or Brownell....his first choice is somebody big, someone that he wanted to get s head start on or maybe show them he was serious and the job was theirs if they wanted it! The part that leaves me scratching my head is anyone but Goodman comes out and says "he's not a candidate" and it's being used as a "smoke screen" I could buy it. But from all accounts he and Goodman are close which makes me think the negative and no way it could be him. IU Prof and Chris007 2

Ctf9 Posted March 10 Posted March 10 (edited) 24 minutes ago, LamarCheeks said: Did Dolson actually say he wants a hire similar to the Cig route -- or is that just speculation? Pete Thamel has done two brief ESPN appearances where he described Dolson’s thinking based on talking to Dolson. I really wish we had written articles because, like with the Goodman Brad tweet, it’s hard to know how much you can lean on the language. That said, Thamel said Dolson wants a Cignetti hire, adding that this means: strong confidence, a playing style with identity, a strong culture, embracing the portal, and lots of wins on his record. Thamel never said Division I wins. Honestly the criteria for McCollum pretty closely. Edited March 10 by Ctf9 dwtaylor1055, jimsorgi, JPCIVOP and 4 others 6 1
