I don’t like Tyme or Goodman either but at anytime our wonderful insiders could come on here and tell us things haven’t fallen apart . And In clear plain English NOT vague memes or GIFs .

I wanted to avoid it as long as possible BUT starting to hope for Chris Beard really only other realistic candidate left seems to be McDermott. That’s really the only other guy I feel as though might be able to get it done .

Undertaker.

I don’t disagree but this is at best journalistically sloppy or cowardly: if he can report Drew and Otz aren’t candidates, he should man up and do so.
I would like to imagine he’s smart enough to understand that, but then again I feel confident he’s smart enough to know “I’m not a candidate” is a, hmm, interesting non-denial quote.*
At worst it shows contempt for his audience, and I wouldn’t put that past him either.
So he may be right, but he’s framed all his “reporting” on the search in such a way that he can make a surprised face if what he’s stood on turns out wrong.
*(I’m sure they spoke more on background, and thus his insistence on framing it that way, but again I’ll say that not pushing for a stronger denial on the record AND THEN framing the quote he did get as a denial is obsequious.)
(I also feel the need to say I’m not really “anti-media” but what Goodman has done both times he’s surfaced about the search in a big way gives journos a bad name.)

Yup. The only two times he spoke about this he did so in a way that would make actual journalists cringe

Don’t do that to me. I don’t think it’s realistic, but don’t do that to me.

Yeah, just dreaming a bit. He would certainly be a surprise. UF is my second most favorite team so I actually hope we get a great coach not named Golden

All the recent game announcers' sappy homages to him, like he's some sort of historic college BB figure saying goodbye after long successful career, only feed his delusions of grandeur.

Although he was a mid coach, he was one of the best players in IU history so he deserves respect  for that. That said, it was time to move on. Think he cared deeply about IU but not the right coach for the job.

Anyone saying Goodman doesn’t have sources is lying to themselves because they don’t like what he is saying. Goodman is very well sourced.

Yep.  People don’t want to hear where we are potentially headed, but it’s more realistic than what we have been shouted down with.  It may not happen, but that’s the type of candidate where it’s been for over a week.  I hope he is wrong on TJO and hope he will be a part of the convo at the end, but doesn’t seem promising there.

Dolson runs a tight ship. Goodman does not have the sources he once had

Given Goodman’s post, which I strongly suspect is accurate, I would place my primary odds on:

McCollum

Beard

with a dash of Murray, Collins, and maybe some NBA young-ish guy.

Though I can’t think of a young NBA guy with real college experience.

Goodman is connected. That said, it is annoying how he seems to find joy out of IU not getting top choices.

Which is why i put zero stock in his reporting.

Dude has an axe to grind. And his reporting should be read with that in mind

I don't think it'll be Stevens but the quote he used as Stevens' denial was even weaker  than that. Goodman didn't quote Stevens saying that he isn't a candidate, just that Stevens loved Boston and his coworkers. They way it was posted, it seemed that it was Goodman's  interpretation that Stevens isn't a candidate.
