Idk game days are usually a little slower, could see Sunday being a big one though

Illinois beating Purdue was huge so now I feel like IU has to win tomorrow because feel like IU matches up better against Oregon than Illinois

About to start a Van Halen tribute band concert. Been pregaming with some fraternity brothers. So in the goal of post count, feel free to ignore this.

1) I turn 60 on April 1. So for those of you wanting a coach for the next 20 years, great. I want a coach for pretty much now.
2) Having said that, I haven’t see a lot of coaches mentioned here who I would be super disappointed in. Maybe Brownell? But I just don’t think IU needs to get that far down on the list.
3) For coaches who think IU is a fishbowl and IU fans expect too much, pound sand. I want a coach who thinks they are the best and doesn’t care about too high of expectations.
4) Eddie Van Halen is a top 5 guitarist. All the haters who think he’s not, there are not 5 other guitarists who, when you hear them play, you know who it is. Well, to me there aren’t 5. Which is my criteria.
5) The NCAA tournament is the greatest sporting event. Period. It absolutely sucks when IU isn’t in it. So pound the **** out of OSU, and, as the youngsters say, LFG.

Agree about EVH,he was a demon on the guitar...also agreed on wanting a "right now" kinda coach,I'm getting along in years too and would love to see a few good seasons of IU basketball with my Grandsons before they plant me in my forever hole in the dirt...are there any VH tribute bands that do Roth and Hagar VH tributes?

Regarding #4,  Eddies great and certainly recognizable, won’t argue his status in the top 5.

But these guys are just as recognizable off the top of my head.  That’s an easy 10:

Jerry Garcia

Stevie Ray Vaughn

Slowhand

Duane Allman

Trey Anastasio

Jimi Hendrix

Kirk Hammett

Angus Young

Billy Gibbons

David Gilmour

That’s a great list but can they beat a zone? What’s their kenpom?

This slow down seems strange.  Did a large group of regulars get a private message and were told to quiet down?

Some of them might be insiders that were told to quiet down.

Some of them might be posters that were called up from the basement, by their mom, for family movie night.

Who knows ???

Gilmour is the best to ever pick up a guitar,EVH is right behind him....but I'm almost certain neither of them could bust a zone defense.

While anything is possible the mover-blocker system is kind of in his DNA. I'd be shocked if he changed his system. Although, their championship run they did seem to run at a slightly faster pace and that team certainly had some horses. I have no data to back that memory up though.

I don’t think mover-blocker is what slows them down. More of a defensive/transition thing. It would be a question I’d have for him. That’s great if you’re at Washington st or uva where you’re a perpetual underdog. Allowing your team to run with Carolina and duke is a recipe for disaster.

I would hope that at IU he would be more like Jay Wrights teams where they were slow most of the times but other times he’d let them push the pace a little. In any event I’m not sure most fans would miss what amounts to 4 or 5 possessions a game if we were winning at that level. But it is all moot, as he’s not coming to IU by anyone’s account. He could make someone a nice coach next hiring cycle. Maybe an Ohio State or something.

The good news is that any coach that could last here twenty years will in all likelihood win big in his first 5.  There’s no real on the job training at IU.

Our biggest mistakes are generally believing the opposite. Much time has been wasted giving coaches extra years hoping they would become something they are not.

We’ll probably know if the next coach will be successful after a couple years. How long IU keeps them after that is above our pay grade, unfortunately.

I'm not too too hung up on a coach's age, especially not after the last 8 years. I'd gladly take an older coach that can right the ship fast and stabilize the program for about 10 years. IU isn’t in a position to risk someone like McCollum that has never had any high major experience of any sort; Cignetti isn’t a good comparison as he played P5 and was an assistant at P5 program (including under Saban at Alabama) before becoming a HC.

Frankly I'd be thrilled with Tony Bennett, his offenses were efficient, but that's not happening.
