Hornsby Posted March 5 Posted March 5 I don't ever remember "they saying" Archie was a homerun hire. I'm sure Fred Glass was the only person who said that or tried to tell everyone it was. lolAll the media said home run.Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk
Hornsby Posted March 5 Posted March 5 No guarantees he won’t. You could argue there are no guarantees at all with any coach you hire Correct but the poster said he is a home run. I said I can only think of a few guys who are almost for sure home run hires. But most are guys iu won't touch. I think what we all really need today is an update from connected guy isaac tor. High point is a tiny little school But Associate Head Coach for a bunch of very successful Creighton teams for six years is a fantastic addition to that resume. And the in-state recruiting connections he has are a cut above. Then there's this: https://pantherstooth.com/2023/03/28/a-look-at-alan-husss-offensive-scheme/ OliviaPope40 1

OliviaPope40 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 19 minutes ago, Stuhoo said: Saw a post that speculated that our search firm was talking to McDermott to get background about Otzelberger. Are we sure it wasn't to get background about Huss? Huss's resume is pretty fantastic. For two seasons at High Point he looks good and he did play for Dana Altman. Good high school coaching record too. Haven't watched much of High Point if at all.

str8baller Posted March 5 Posted March 5 1 hour ago, RaceToTheTop said: For the record: no one has a higher career winning percentage at Creighton in the last 90 years than McDermott does. And he's done it in the Big East instead of MVC. Dana Altman is a decent coach. He won less in the MVC than McDermott has in the Big East. Altman also built that program from the ground up. Altmans has only had one losing season at the P5 level—his first year at KSU in ‘91. When McDermont was asked to build a P5 school he put together 4 straight losing seasons and got fired. I’d argue at IU he’s taking over more of a rebuild than he is trying to continue and build off of an already successful program at Creighton. Also McDermont had his son to help kick start his Creighton run and he dipped down after Doug left before building it back up again. I probably like McD the best of the B-list candidates. But he’s definitely on the B-list. joegold0311, Sandman, thebigweave and 3 others 6

I know they won the Big South by 3 games. I’ve only watched 3 of their games this year. Looking forward to watching them in the conference tourney.

RaceToTheTop Posted March 5 Posted March 5 So Alan Huss is the flavor of the day today? Good coach, but Alan Huss's next stop isn't going to be Indiana. lillurk and Chris007 1 1

I actually have watched way more high point than most lol. One of my buddies went to college there. Huss is beloved there. They play very fun basketball especially on the offensive end. Having a top 25 offense at kenpom where most ppl would struggle to name a single player is extremely impressive. Keep in mind tubby smith was their coach before Huss and they were absolutely terrible with no fan support. Huss comes in and immediately wins back to back regular season titles. I know my buddy would be very sad to lose Huss. I doubt he’s being considered but he’s a good young coach on the rise cybergates, thebigweave, Stuhoo and 2 others 3 2
Gameface01 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 I don't know how to share it, but sporting news has an article titled indiana expected to interview big 12 former coach of the year. Inside several quotes from Bozich and great a hire it'd be and maybe his name is definitely involved. Can't remember exactly

I’d possibly be interested in Tucker coming back but same questions as MM Tucker was allegedly reaching out to other teams, over a month ago, because he didn’t think he was getting the minutes he deserved. IF TRUE, and I don’t have direct knowledge that it is, I would happily say good goodbye.
