I’m not saying your friend lied or that Woody lied to your friend.  I’m saying if anyone in the athletic department gave Woody any names they were lying to Woody.

The last person anyone in Dolson's inner circle would trust is Woody.

The guy has been on a victim tour with every announcing crew he's encountered...

I don't think I mean this as d-baggy as it sounds, or maybe I do, but I wonder how many college basketball coaches Woody could offer a considered judgement on? Maybe 5?  Some of those guys remember every action and every decision from every game they've ever been on the bench for, I know for a fact that Self can do that, but Woody has always felt like once he's done thinking about a game he just moves on.
Great coaches can do that. You could interview coach knight and he would talk about a game 20 years ago like he just got done with it. I have caught woodson several times messing up details on post game radio right after the game. If you listen to him to much you quickly learn he has no clue what is going on. Imo

Fair enough. I can't imagine he would have taken the time let me know if there wasn't some weight to it. He's been nothing short of reliable in the past and doesn't share speculation. I guess time will tell.

what does the BTB collective think about the possibility of Mark Few at IU?

I think of all the 0 percent chance guys that we’ve thrown around in this thread, Few is the most 0 percent. He’s got a spectacular life and he’s not leaving the only college he’s ever coached at.

There are reasons why he would leave.  But yeah unlikely.

Yea.  As mad as Woody is right now, and I know he is being very difficult, Dolson really can’t afford to have him in the loop.  He would tell everyone, he doesn’t care, just like the poster’s friend.  Woody is probably conveying his best guess.

While Dolson might not tell Woody anything, there is no getting around the fact that Woody knows a lot of people connected to all of this. He likely knows a lot

If Woodson knows, then just about everybody would know, cause he'd be the last person at IU to find out the inner workings of the next coach search

I believe this. I think the others are off base here.

4 years of struggles at Iowa State is enough info to why you don’t hire a 60 year old McDermott. He’s at the perfect place for his time and age.

Agree — not saying he'd fail, clearly a good coach, not totally convinced it’d be “bad” but I think there’s a little downside risk

I've been in exile in Arizona for the past 45 years... what are "hinkle burgers"? Something serves at Hinkle field house (along the lines of "Dodger dogs")?

FWIW, Taco Bell is nasty, but I grew up on WCs and we actually have a couple in Phoenix now (ok, Scottsdale and Avondale) ...

It was crazy for a while when the Scottsdale one opened. Long lines for like a month or more.

I don't post often but I'm a long time lurker here. Lifetime Hoosier fan so I wouldn't waste my time or anyone else's here.
I seen you have been a member for a while. I am just hoping stevens and your pouring water on that. Make sure you wear something we can identify you by tonight. Tell us now so we don't think you watched and pretended to be someone else

As a preacher I would love for our next coach to genuinely love Jesus in such a way that he does NOT have to preach sermons to his team or demand they go to church with him, but RATHER that they see he walks with integrity, class, and respect… that he treats everyone (from the 5star recruit to the water boy) with compassion and kindness. That he has a reputation for looking out for the good of others BUT also works hard and is willing to model self-sacrifice for the benefit of others. A saint once said, Preach the word and when necessary use words.”

It’s true we are hiring a coach, but there’s also more to life than basketball. So, I’d like a coach who will model the kind of values that make the world a better place.

Amen to the saint!
