And better than Crean. Better than Sampson at IU since he didn’t make it two full years. And better than Davis. As unexciting as he is, Cronin would be the best hire since Sampson and probably have the best tenure since Knight. That’s not high praise for Cronin. Were voters not familiar with the complaints? Not going into this beyond the bold, just a FYI. He was charged with third degree felony assault by strangulation/suffocation-family violence. The charges were dropped two months later. To the top paragraph, you do make a good point. The Golden stuff does sound pretty slimy. Harassment at worst, conduct totally unbecoming at best. Both are very good coaches, neither will be considered due to the above. If i was gonna guess, Golden would have a better shot at consideration than Beard since kept his job. I think it applies to many potential candidates this cycle. agree. it's not a sexy hire like most will want, but he's got a higher floor (consistent tourney appearances year over year for quite some time) with solid upside still(sweet 16s/final 4).
