I'm just cautious in giving much weight to the rumors, especially after we went down this road last time and ended getting a running dropkick to the groin.

It's possible the "2 weeks to decide" involves more than just him deciding. I wouldn't think it'd be too common to schedule OOC games without having a coach.

I love hearing the rumors and inside scoop. So keep it coming guys. But I’m with you, I will not get excited about IU basketball until there is an official announcement.

Well maybe with IU's interest Stevens's agent can leverage a measly percent or two and a larger salary out of it.

Celtics are thought to be worth $6B. A measly 1% is worth $60,000,000. Not saying it wouldn’t be on the table but certainly a substantial amount. Theo Epstein stake wasn’t disclosed. Billy B got 4%.

To say I'm skeptical he returns to college would be an understatement. I have no connections and hear nothing.

Our insuders can feel good based on what they hear, but we don't know how things are on the other end.

There was nowhere near this much smoke last time. This smoke is moving at mock speed.

So true funny story… my high school basketball coach’s wife came to him one day and was like hey I want to go get my masters at Baylor can we move and he said sure let’s do it. So they get down to Baylor and he walks into the basketball offices and introduces himself and gives his history and skillset and they hire him as a video scout coordinator. He gets so good at it they bring him into meetings and have him start working with them. He then gets a top assistant job at a jr college in Florida and the top assistant leaves and takes head coaching job at UNF. He then gets a call like 4 years later and now he’s an assistant coach at UNF for YEARS now

so.....as soon as the press conference ends, you're saying I should go to Cook Hall and introduce myself?

He wasn't putting any pressure on him. Some would say he was following orders

Great coaches/leaders can absolutely be nice guys like Stevens or May, but you can also be damn sure that those nice guys are next step thinkers and promote efforts toward their goals at all times.

In my workplace I try to always treat people like gold, but I am also always obsessing about what might be advantageous toward big goals and better things for the organization.

The news of the day came early today, wonder what tomorrow will bring

I negotiated the first 3 nights of the week with the wife and gave her tonight and tomorrow. Even though were going to the game tomorrow. But what I'm trying to say is I'm off the boards tonight so keep it quiet, please.

That's funny a couple of mods say you sure don't treat them like gold

The mods are just Capos in this organization, the posters in their crews have to kick up to them and the mods kick up to The Don. Like a good Boss, the man in charge has totally insulated himself... he just gives the orders... right Scotty R?

What’s a hex code?  :)

Hex is short for hexadecimal. It's a numbering system often used in electronics and computer science/programming since it's base 16 (2 to 4th power) and can be used to represent binary numbers in a format which is much easier to read and write.

It has 0-9, same as the base 10 number system you're used to, but also uses letters A-F for 10-15.

So 0x1c (hex) = 1(16^1) + 12(16^0) = 28 (decimal) = 0001 1100 (binary) for example.

There's also an octal numbering system (base 8, 0-7) but it's garbage, imo. Long live hex!

And that is your nerd lesson of the day.

So Don Fischer is the guy running this?

I would also add a few other possible (probably?) things that affect the information in addition to what you said above (which I agree with):

- It looks like a lot of the info comes the IU side and not the target's side. So the way a target (in this case Stevens but this applies to recruits as well) is leaning is really just a reflection of how confident the IU side feels instead of what the target is actually thinking.

- The information seems to pass through several people before showing up on this board. Distortion is to be expected. That's not to say intentional, but it does happen when passing info from person to person. Anyone remember the telephone game we played as kids?

I love the info we get on this site but at the same time take it with a grain of salt. Not because I think they're lying or making it up, but because I can see how things can change or the how it might be inaccurate.

Also, if we didn't get tidbits from our insiders we would be in a caustic whirlpool of arguments consisting of, but not limited to:

1. Is Chris Beard a POS? Does it matter if he wins games?

2. Can McCollum beat anyone and does he hate the three pointer? Many people are asking.

3. Does Mick Cronin actually win .680 of his games? Or is it a mirage that he is probably whining about as we speak?

4. Just how much money would we have to give to the Alabama football NIL fund to buy Nate Oats?

5. Is Brad Brownell mid, and does Stu secretly want him to be head coach? Many people also curious.

6. Why hasn't Hova started an BTB NIL fund with leftover FMW ad revenue? I will continue to annihilate this dead horse.

7. How old is Bruce Pearl? Is he old-old, or young-old?

Feel free to add to the list if I have forgotten any to pass the time!
