If you want to listen to “insiders” on this site or others that have told us in the past Brad Stevens and Billy Donovan  were done deals go ahead. Not only were they wrong on Stevens and Donovan but they had little to no knowledge of who the eventual hire would be til it was making the rounds in social media.

who pissed in your Cheerios?...

Woodson didn’t. Haha
No he did not. He thought he was untouchable because he played here 87 years ago. I really believe he thought he could never get fired.

i could be misremembering but anyone remember 4 years ago when we were looking for a coach a recruit’s dad said IU was looking to hire Stevens and his son was a top priority.  My remembering also tells me the recruit was Braden Smith. Anyone else remember

I remember that. Then I looked up Smith and thought "Man, he's going to be annoying if he's in West Lafayette for 4 years". And here he is, annoying us and just lining up that post-degree insurance sales job!

It really wasn’t 87 yrs ago.  I know cuz I’m 5 months younger than Woody.
I know that but it was a long time ago. He was hired to win titles not live in the past.

No idea, sorry. The tweeter followed it up with this one... which was very interesting

Thanks for these. The fact that he specified that he really misses the teaching aspect of coaching in this second one certainly suggests someone who might prefer college to pro coaching.

I know!  Trust me.  I’ve seen them all since 1976 when I grad HS.  81 with Zeke and was only 28 when we won in 87!  I KNOW what winning is.  I’m so tired of this lame crap I could scream!

I'm with ya Hornsby, you could say 187 or 50 years ago.- when he played here doesn't change sh*t that Woodson as a coach sucked and sucked before he was here. Should have been obvious when there was zero demand for him. Quinn is a clown...

ok..time for my next rum and coke...

Dusty May would be an idiot to take the IU job. He has too many close connections. His mother lives in Btown and his in-laws live in the area. One three-game losing streak and they will start to hear all the negatives. Nobody needs that. Plus, I think he's just too nice of a guy. That isn't a slam on the IU fan base, the same would be true at KY, KS, UNC, Duke, etc.  He can win but remain below the radar at MI, which is definitely football first.

IU needs someone who doesn't care about the outside noise and doesn't have to worry about their extended families dealing with it. That's why guys like Beard & Cronin make sense. I think Stevens could deal with the noise, but he isn't coming.

I think this would eliminate most of the coaches who have wives and kids who will be in schools.  Stevens would be out because his son would transfer and his daughter may come for soccer. Tracy may even get a gig as a professor
