Worth it, yes. But again, another coach who has no interest in competing in this landscape of college basketball. He retired from the pinnacle of basketball for a reason.

This was a great read when it was initially published but unfortunately now behind a paywall. There’s legitimately 20 names mentioned in the article from Calipari to Stevens to Jay Wright. They allegedly had “done deals” with Calipari, Rick Barnes, and Jamie Dixon. Reads like our last coaching search…

Beard would leave Ole Miss before their season was over if it meant getting the job. He's as realistic as it gets in terms of interest. Ball is totally in IU's court however.

There is a 0% chance IU would hire Beard. It takes a mutual interest which isn't there. That makes it as unrealistic as Stevens.

Trust me, I get it, it takes two to tango. But it’s a lot easier to get a guy who wants to be hereas opposed to one who doesn’t.

All it takes is for one light bulb to turn on and he’s one call away. Until then, this program will continue to fall further and further into college basketball oblivion and you’ll still have people questioning as to why.

Yup.  Louisville will be better than IU in 2 seasons with Beard.  Maybe 1.

We differ here.  There are a lot of coaches that have baggage.  That’s one thing, but he has demons as you put it.  I would hope there is 0.0% chance that he would even be considered.  From a young woman’s perspective that just graduated from IU, the thought of him on campus makes me cringe.

In two months time, Beard will have taken his FOURTH different school to the NCAAT in an 8 year span. IU as a program has been twice in that same time frame. It’s unbelievable.

Hell, look what he is doing at Ole Miss this year!  15-2. With 9 new players, I believe.  I love that he Had Bob Knight on his shirt last night during the game.  Not sure if he has been doing it since he died or not, but a cool gesture for the greatest to ever coach!
