I think it depends on who we get instead. If we got an Oats, Drew, or Beard then I would be sad it's not Brad but still ecstatic about the future. Now if we got like Enfield I'd be pretty devastated. 

I agree. There seems to be a short list of very good candidates even if we don't get the golden goose. Now if we get past that short list then I will probably be slightly disappointed but still enthusiastic about the possibilities.

I personally will not be devastated. Unless the next coach is John Doe from South Harmon Institute of Technology,, I don’t see IU “missing” again. This coaching search feels different than 4 years ago

I get people not wanting Beilein. There are a lot of concerns -- I'd have many myself.

But those who are absolutely against Beilein -- that's how I feel about Scott Drew. Not that I have any say in it (well, none of us do for that matter), but I just cannot get on board with a Scott Drew hire. He's actually from very close to where I grew up, but I just don't care for the guy. Just seems sorta sleazy.

I would not be thrilled with a Drew hire, but I'd still follow the team and still be passionate about IU hoops. But I'd also be praying like crazy that he doesn't land us in hot water with the NCAA -- because as we all know, our compliance team will go after our coaches harder than the NCAA ever will!

Like I have seen I think it has to be someone that is a huge higher.  You don't get a 10 mil buyout and money for the new coach to get another mid major coach,  Also with what Dolson has said about what he wants on the offensive end I think that would eliminate Beard and maybe Drew. I would think the coaches who would meet the criteria abut offense that Dolson was talking about would be Beilein, Oats and Musselman.

If it's not BS, and one of the other favorites of the board, I wonder if Dolson would demand the new coach to have either Michael Lewis or Dane Fife as one of the assistants. (to build the IU culture from within) I doubt if Fife would take the lateral move, unless he was assured the big chair after the next coach left.

I’m trying to temper my expectations, especially after that press video but this is similar to Alabama football getting Saban or UK basketball (bleh) getting Calipari. IU needs to get its home run. To me, Beard or Drew will be a triple but that home run....that grand slam is Stevens. My hopes are up. Get that white whale!
