Well, I can tell you that is happening.

 just posting for first time today. @Chris007 has been spot on for a long time and I came over from HSN to see what he was saying and I know that my info may not received well since I am new to the site but I shared on HSN that CAM would be let go on Monday that same person shared with me that Dolson was willing to offer Stevens to become the highest paid coach in sports is what i was told. I find that hard to believe. He feels that SD has his man and IU will know this week 1 way or the other but for obvious reasons may not be able to share it for some time. Initially he felt it was Beilein but now he things that BS may be a serious candidate. I agree 100% with Chris I think it will be one of Stevens, Beard or Beilein and I would be very excited for any of the 3. I always take these things with a grain of salt but enjoy sharing even if wrong. Thank you and I look forward to this search and to posting more.

If Dolson is willing to pay then I like our chances with this hire. We’ve got the history, fan base, facilities, etc. We just haven’t always been willing to break the bank. You can go far in college sports if you’re willing to spend.

my two cents that are worth less. IF brad stevens does accept an offer to come to IU, do the celtics want him there still with one foot out of the door? 

On the other side does IU wait 4 months for stevens? I think the fan base would be restless after a couple of weeks without word of anything.

There’s no better time for Stevens. The timing wasn’t there the last couple times. This time is different. If Scott gets this done, IU will be back at the top

If he's willing, you give him what he wants.  He could probably get trusted assistants together and they could get a start.

Billingsley is top notch to interact with on HSN.  I for one would be fine with any of those three you mentioned.  Beilein I'd imagine they'd have a plan to bring someone to sit behind him and take over in 5 to 7 years given his age.

Seems to be the only explanation I can come up with. 

HSN has had issues whenever there was busy traffic (e.g., following a loss to Purdue, win vs Iowa), but this multi-day crash is unprecedented... of course Coach being fired is unprecedented for my time on the site.

I think the good news was just to much to bear. I hate for anyone to lose their job as a former coach I have been there but you have to produce and we all know that did not happen. Its hard to feel too sorry for a guy walking away with that kind of money and he will land somewhere and be successful. I am excited and just hope we get it right this time.

I think if you get into April without an announcement, it will be pretty obvious what the play is. If we get to that point without word, I'm happy to wait until the day of the 1st game next year without an announcement if it ultimately means it's Stevens.

Edit: Have seen a lot of HSN transplants here recently. I am PhinithreeMagic over there. Was on the old Scout forums and signed up on HSN when Rob hit his game-winner vs Butler. I thought we were onto big things at the time. Here's to my new moniker becoming outdated as quickly as the old one!
