Sans their 2008 team, that franchise hasn’t bought into the concept of winning with superstars, which is ironic because the only time they won in the last 30 years was when they went that route. Brad is out of Boston within the next few years anyway. NBA coaches just don’t last that long if they’re not winning. Hell, Frank Vogel was probably going to be fired in LA if he didn’t win in his first season. He was seen as a placeholder for Jason Kidd. Brad got some extra time given how Ainge was building the Celtics and he’s been to three conference finals with them, but the honeymoon is over for him and they’re not getting any better. Unless the honeymoon deteriorated rapidly over the last 7 months, I don't see how it could possibly already be over. Maybe if they have an early exit in the playoffs?
woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 Someone on HSN said it's Beilein. I'm fine with it IF someone like Fife or another AC like that is named Associate HC and will take over after a few yearsSent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk taco corp and Feathery 2

woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 Haven't heard anyone mention John Scheyer, so I'll throw that name out there as a contrarian option. He's been the primary recruiter at Duke since Capel left. Lead contact for guys like Tatum, Jones brothers, and Ingram. Coach K understudy. Young and energetic. X's and O's guy who knows how to run an offense. But will he bolt for Duke when K retires?Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 If it’s not a home run, I hope it’s a young guy. Gates is intriguing Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Popular Post Hillsdale87 Posted March 15, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 15, 2021 Guys, respectfully, Beilein is 68!!!! We do NOT want a 68 year old coach. He was great in his day, but come on...Great in his day, as in 2 years ago? He played in the national championship 3 years ago and won 30 games 2 years ago. He's not at the top of my list, but I don't think the game has passed him by. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk thebigweave, 8bucks, Gahoosierfan and 5 others 8

woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 As much as I would love Stevens, I don't see IU waiting until June. If the hire is announced this week, it is Beilein or Matta. If announced after that, it is a coach currently in the NCAA or NIT. My list is in other thread. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk Hippopotamo 1

We do have shooters in Leal, Franklin, Stewart, and Lander. I think part of the problem was the coaching staff and having players play tight. Beilein has a history of player development and offensive fluidity. Plus he has scholarships to use to get a player he needs. taco corp, JaybobHoosier, thebigweave and 1 other 4
