Dolson and Archie being on the same page could mean any number of things. For example on Friday after IU loses to Rutgers it could be announced that IU and Archie are mutually parting ways. That would mean that they were in fact on the same page but yet the program is going in a different direction.

Archie has definitely looked/acted like a guy who knows his time here is done the past few games.

I agree. The roster isn't too bad. It's not unrealistic to think Lander will take a major step this summer. We've seen things from Jordan and Trey that shows that can play for Indiana. Every freshman has their own ways to go but there's something there. Archie's best recruiting class hands down and I know that's not saying much but they have some skill.

It's his best class, but one he doesn't need to be coaching anymore. Why? They'll never improve. Just like everyone else on the roster.

It’s going to be weird when Brad Stevens leaves the Celtics with a month left in the regular season to become our coach....

They are a second round exit team so it's really no big deal. Brad is just walking the sidelines watch Tatum and Brown chuck up 3's. He won't be missing too much!

I think I said this last week but I wish Terry Hutchens was still around. He would for sure write a book about this and it would be terrific. I have a few guesses as to why it failed.

1) I think (key word think) Archie was afraid to coach Romeo. I think that ultimately pissed off the team and set the tone for the last few years. Say what we want about Calipari, but I think the reason Romeo didn't consider UK was because Cal wouldn't kiss his a$$.

2) He inherited a terrible roster and for whatever reason kept a lot of these guys here. Now was that Archie's choice, admins? Who knows. He just didn't inherit a big ten roster.

3) That being said, he missed on recruits. Jake Forrester, Damezi Anderson...it's looking like Jerome and Rob were overrated . Archie had to hit on that 2018 class. Imagine if Jake, Damezi, Jerome, and Rob lived up to the expectations of the staff. This team would be pretty good with the addition of Trayce and Armaan. Outside of Romeo that class is almost as bad as the movement.

4) I think he lost the fan base losing 12/13 in the 2018-2019 season. Each of the last three coaches have lost the fan base and it's hard to recover from that..right or wrong... Davis lost it by missing the tournament two years in a row, Sampson by the NCAA Violations (Although those seem minor now), and Crean losing to Syracuse in 2013.

The Romeo thought isn’t far fetched. Archie allowed Justin that type of leeway last season. Can’t coddle certain players and command respect as a coach. Doesn’t work that way

More than once I've used the phrase consistently inconsistent or inconsistent consistently.

People like to throw around Romeo's name a lot for a lot of blame. I don't know why we'd blame a kid who could have just gotten his surgery at the beginning of the season, sat out and been a top 5 pick. Instead he battled through the injury on a crappy team and in an offense that only hurt him more. There is only 1 very consistent thing that's been around all 4 years during all of this teams problems.

Agree.  The offense sucks.  And then sucks some more.  Why would anyone want to play for a coach, any coach, with this sucky offense.  Hint, they don't.  So that leads to bad recruiting, which leads to losses, which lead to the toilet bowl.  And here we are.

Probably just a Justin thing. That guy wasn’t a team player. On Romeo, he played hurt the entire year. I can’t stand it when people rag on him for how he played. He averaged near 20 pts/gm with a crappy offense and unlucky injuries. He did as well as he could. Archie would just throw him in the corner and wait for the ball. Romeo should’ve had the ball in his hands most of the time. He was clearly the best player on the team. I don’t care that he didn’t play the NIT, aka the not invited tournament, because it means nothing

Let’s say the “same page” does indeed have to do with them both thinking there needs to be a change... I wonder if at this point Archie’s people have sent out feelers to other schools for himself, or if it could be too early for him to do that yet.

Dana Altman has a buy-out of $18million? He's off the list.

Tony Bennett has a buy-out of $21 million. He's off the list.

Rick Barnes and Chris Beard? $15 and $16 million dollars.

Nate Oats is $14 million

Steve Alford has a $9million dollar buy-out? Thank god. Too rich for our blood right now. LOL

Meh. Not sure about the other contracts but Beards is basically an Anti- compete with schools in Texas. The buyout dramatically drops, I think to 3 or 6 million, if the school isn’t in Texas. The others may be similar

This. Right. Here.

You could look at the same page differently and more simple as being Dolson telling Archie he’s not living up to his expectations of the program and Archie saying he understands and agrees. That would put them on the same page...so yeah,  you can’t really take the same page thing as a definite 100% way without really knowing how they are feeling and the context of it. Could go either way.

My biggest issue with Romeo was how he was used and that wasn't his fault. Standing in the corner all the time on offense and doing nothing. Franklin got used at times like that this year. That's a coaching decision that I don't understand.
