I just don't agree with you. I'm not saying DeVries is the best coach in the country but he's really quite good. He was an assistant at Creighton for a long time (both Altman and McDermott). West Virginia was dreadful before DeVries arrived and then went 10-10 in the very tough Big 12 this season and that was without Tucker DeVries playing a conference game. Without his son, WVU still beat Kansas at Phog Allen and Iowa State (when they were #2). With Tucker DeVries, they beat Gonzaga and Arizona in Atlantis and took Louisville to overtime. That's pretty darn good for a first-year in a power conference and a first year of a major rebuild. In addition, he landed three four-star recruits at West Virginia...not bad at all.

I'm more impressed with his WVU season than his time at Drake, I'll say that.

And since we know the Sisleys are paying attention, welcome!  We have had some great parents/family members join our boards.  Some not so good lol.  We look forward to Trent and watching him grow with whomever that coach is.  At any point if you guys want to put your final vote in for anyone, we will keep it to ourselves.

Everyone is playing for 2nd in the great family members on BTB game. My queen Lydia Ferrell can not be topped.

This is true but Goodman putting this out makes me think it's more agent peddled stuff. We know DeVries is closely linked to Iowa. The clock is ticking now. Could very well be leverage to get higher salary and/or better NIL guarantees from Iowa.

Could definitely be wrong. DeVries wouldn't be a terrible hire for IU.

I'm more of the thought that Goodman doesn't know d!ck and is just throwing stuff at the wall hoping for a winner. The dude is somewhat connected, but he's pretty troll-ish.

He turned around a terrible WVU in one year and they got hosed from a tourney bid without their best player

Rabby says he's hearing that DeVries will be meeting with his AD today.

That is interesting but it doesn't really mean anything. It could be to inform the AD that he's taking another job (either IU or Iowa) or that he's staying at WV.

That doesn't scream "IU should hire him" but yes, it was a successful season for him, I agree.

So a Devries hire means……….Dolson literally got his guy within the last day

More than likely yes, which was always going to be the case.

The idea that Brad Stevens was going to walk away from the Celtics in the middle of the season sounds more ridiculous by the day….yet has been the topic of discussion for the last two months.

Just for potential future reference, someone tell me how to correctly pronounce “DeVries.” I’ve heard ‘Deh-vry”  “Deh-vree” and “Deh-vrees”

No way I would pick Devries over McCollum unless MCCollum said he was not interested

In some respects DeVries is the safer pick. He was very successful for years at the D1 level. He also has proven he can recruit well at a power conference level with less resources than IU. And they should have made the dance in year 1 after turning around WV quickly.
