he mentioned it his live, you should be able to listen to the whole thing when it ends. He mentioned McCollum smoke potentially being real. I think I heard that he said someone thinks McDermott’s name was popping up.

Drake plays Thursday, could lose.  Friday could be within the week.

I'll add that if Dolson and Whiiten are at f' it time they could hire Wade or Beard. Don't think they're there but who the hell knows at this point? Answer is nobody.

This has me pumped man. A few things we can glean from this:

1) Regional media (Bozich, Rabjohns, etc) are locked out; the Brownell smoke is nothing. I think we can also ignore Rabjohns' hot boards

2) "Dolson has given very strict orders" implies that there's been far more going on behind the scenes than any of us know, and it's likely no one outside of a small circle knows who the hire is going to be. But it gives confidence that Dolson knows what he's doing.

3) "I'll be able to take the lid off a bit later in the week" seems to imply that we have our guy and an announcement is coming this week; this also indicates our coach is not currently in the tourney.

I have zero reason to doubt @JerryYeagley23. He has stayed silent for nearly a month, which leads me to believe he's following Dolson's "strict orders" rather than posting whatever the latest rumor he hears. I have more confidence than ever that Dolson has made an excellent hire and cannot wait to support our new coach.

Apparently it was a link to the extension Brownell signed last summer.  He probably saw it posted here and didn't realize it.

I mean your "wink" talk clearly eludes to McCollum. Somehow people here have forgotten who the #1 fanboy of McCollum is. I don't mean fanboy to be derogative here, just don't have a better term.

I have been making a lot of jokes here, but here are my actual thoughts. I want:

1. A big fish,. I'm not even sure that Stevens would be that. His success at the college level is limited. To me, that would mean a Billy Donovan or Jay Wright. 
2. An up-and-comer. Ben McCullom or Alan Huss are those coaches this cycle. 
3. I could even deal with Will Wade because what he's accused of is no longer even a violation. My problem with Beard is that he seems like a Billy Gilespie waiting to happen. 
4. What I don't want to happen is to hire a retread like Brownell. He was an up-and-comer during the Archie Miller search. he got his chance and has been average at best. 

You have to either get the sure thing or take a swing. No in-between.

He was in the conversation when we hired Crean.  He would have been an up and comer back then!

Not sure why I'm having such a hard time getting people on the Calhoun caboose. If we're going mid major/up and comer. His teams play a style that is fun to watch and tenacious on defense.

McCollum is a great fall back option. He’s still got some unknowns to his name but he checks a lot of the boxes. 
 

But a wink, that’s another level altogether. I can’t imagine we have to wait more than a few days for the lid to open up a la Jerry’s intimation or the slow-motion wink from Magnanimous.

And to be clear....I'm totally on board with McCollum. All of this talk about politics, schmoozing and recruiting is meh to me. Is that important? Sure, to an extent. What IU, and every program, needs 1st and foremost is a ******* coach. Give me a dude that knows what the **** he's doing and the guys he needs to ******* do it. Period, end of story. Guy wins and guess what? Everyone around will be schmoozing his @$$ and recruits will line up. I don't care how far he's gone in NCAA tournament, I don't care how many 5*'s he's recruited and I don't care how "icky" he is. Mike Pegram (Peegs) dropped a major hint that it's McCollum. We shall see.

I'm still holding out hope for a bigger fish but I won't be upset if that's the hire.

Jerry said that regional media has zero intel and is just fishing for clicks.  This leads me to believe it’s not McCollum.
