IU has repeatedly shown over the last 25 years that this program is not well run.

Brownell would be a stupid hire but we're coming off a pure nepotism hire.

IU hasn’t been well run.  I’m not denying that.  As I said, Dolson can rectify that with this hire.  I’m of the mindset he’s going to get this right.  If he doesn’t, it’ll tell us all we need to know.

Coaching candidates aside, what style of ball do we prefer?

Fast paced run and gun or more slow methodical lock down on defense? Does a slower pace appeal to top level recruits?

Style of play — whatever style maximizes efficiency with your current roster.  Tough, hard-nosed defense with a strong emphasis on rebounding.  And can consistently recruit at a high level.

True. And also, it's not 25 years of the same administration. I'm not sure hiring Mike Davis is a particularly relevant precedent to this discussion. Let's just take a breath here.

So all the hush hush for brownell. Wouldn’t want that to get out.

Team most likely needs a place to practice for a few more days. I don’t think Cook or Assembly survive a Brownell announcement.

Just so I’m clear, you’re the little kid in this metaphor?

I don’t even think we’ll land Stevens. Certainly hopeful for a name bigger than Brownell. I’d rather have a younger guy like McCollum or Huss over that. So no. But you and the others are the parents that when their kid has a dream and says they want to be a professional athlete rather than just cheering them on in their little league game you tell them their dream is stupid and they’ll never make it that far.

Agreed. I think you have to adapt in today’s game. Maximize your roster each year and not necessarily rely on one specific style.

The more he posts the more he proves he is not an IU FAN.
