Just briefly, at a certain level of giving, each donor gets assigned a “contact person” in the AD’s office (associate AD, assistant AD, etc.).  If the donor wants info about anything, they go to their contact person.  The names that that been passed along and generally picked up by the “media” (Goodman, etc.) are names that these contacts are giving to the donors.  Unless you believe a name like Beard is actually a candidate, they are false flags.

Agree. I don’t see IU making the tourney so a ton will occur Monday and Tuesday. Of no indication by Wednesday at 5 we know it’s someone in tourney.

We know so little about what's actually happening behind the scenes, if I wanted to be critical right now, I'm not sure what I would be critical of.  I don't know our top targets (we probably know one), how long we've been talking to those targets, our pitch, targets' feedback to us, and who has or will reach an agreement to be our next coach.  Waiting stinks, but that's where we are at.  Though that will end soon.

Totally, which is a good thing. We are all just on edge after more than a month of this now basically. The timing was always going to be most likely right after the first weekend finishes and the portal opens IMO. We just gotta leg out the home stretch, almost there… hard not to fill in the blanks with conjecture / speculation in the meanwhile

Osterman is probably who will get the news on the new coach first. Sounds like this will be over next week. That’s probably good news.

Yea.  Due to our history I get rattled when Dusty signs an extension or Goodman tweets whatever or Brownell comes up.  PTSD.

I keep going to back to the fact Scott has been on our side.  He wanted to fire Woody after last season (good call) and this year he got it done midseason (impressive!).  He knew Woody wasn’t the answer a long time ago, probably before most fans — he changed his buyout before year 3, Woody was in good standing with the fanbase back then.

I think he has been prepping for this search for a long time.
