I'm a consultant and my wife is in academia.

Both groups live in their own bubbles and have some very weird perspectives on what they perceive as the "real world".

You are nicer than I am.  I would have reminded that one pays for the other, and not the other way around for their services.

What did Cashy really even say here?

Indiana is talking to many people, doing due diligence. Active coaches are in communication through agents or other reps.

Duh. This is every coaching hire everywhere in college basketball, college football, NBA, NFL, etc. Cashy has offered nothing here at Btown Banners but judgement of the fans and a big, wet blanket.

I said none of this . . . You’re reading someone’s fictitious musings. You’re often late to the Party.

I specifically recall Eric saying he would be shocked if Cronin had any interest in IU. Maybe I’m mistaken but pretty sure not.

No, that is not correct. He was openly pushing for Cronin.

I think the “IU admin is unique” argument is overplayed from both sides — there are some historic anomalies related to singular leaders we all know (Brand, McRobbie, etc.) but those folks are gone. M

Every admin is unique but other universities are bureaucratic and have a breadth of stakeholders who are only somewhat aligned.

KwaC is not the only person around here w/higher ed experience. Some of us even have experience with multiple institutions ;)
