As a trustee in my church, we get donation offers all the time.  They almost always come with stipulations about how we can spend it.  Sometimes the stipulations are so ridiculous that we turn down the money.

I'd have to assume that the buyout money came with similar stipulations.  If there's money left, it goes to X as described by the donor.

I do not know the facts but would guess that the donors also are paying over time which means there would not be any excess funds if Archie gets a new job, which I assume he will.

My wife just told me that I'm in such a good mood she wishes IU could fire Archie Miller every day.  That's a good thing, right?

I was starting to give up too. IUBB hasn’t been fun for a while. I remember commenting that even the wins are ugly and boring, and that brought derision.

Hope is marginally restored. But just to enjoy a different brand of basketball is exciting in its own right.

That was one of the key points I thought Dolson addressed in his presser --

...style of play that recruits want to play in and that recruits see that they can see themselves in, but then also is really on the cutting edge of where is basketball going, where is college basketball going, and as you can see, basketball is different than it was three years ago, four years ago, six years ago in terms of how it fits into the NBA and moving on and playing professionally.

So is Joey brunk the only player who has thanked or supported archie in any way. This is odd that more players aren't loyal to him imo.

Still telling that not much support from current or previous players. I still question these last 6 games if some players weren't losing on purpose

Been at work today so I wanted to give my thoughts on Archie: 

1) I really thought he would win at IU. I thought year one was a wash and years 2 and 3 would be eh but I thought by year four this program would be a contender. 

2) He took over a mess on and off the court. He did not inherit a Big Ten roster. It's been said the APR issues hurt him. That is why really in year one I didn't hold that season against him. 

3) He lost the fan base in year two by losing 12/13. Romeo was overhyped but still was a good college player that was poorly used. I feel Archie was afraid of coaching him and that pissed the team off. He and Juwan were the best 1-2 punch since Vic-Cody. That team should've been a 6/7 seed and they blew it.

4) Year three was probably the best team he's had and that's not saying much. Would've been a 10 seed but they still had a bad four game losing streak that hurt them and cost them a seed line. 

5) He 100% absolutely had to make the tournament this year. Three/four weeks ago they were in. That six game losing streak was the final nail in the coffin as Chris called. 

Overall, I don't think the players really liked playing for Archie. He's had enough talent to make the tournament. Also, you can't go 0-7 against Purdue. Just can't happen. He lost all momentum in this program. He pretty much whiffed on the 2018 recruiting class outside of Romeo. He had to hit on that one. 

Props to Scott Dolson for doing the right thing. I really think Fred Glass keeps him for another year. I do think Indiana has a short list of proven guys. We will see. All I'm saying is let's give whoever it is a chance. As long as it's a proven winner and NOT a gamble I'm happy. I just want Indiana to make deep runs in the tournament and eventually hopeful that they will come out on top once.  I've been a fan since the late 90's. Really only the 2002, 2012, 2013, and 2016 teams are considered "great" IU teams.

I’ve been considering this as well. I think the underlying tone and effort makes it a worthy thought. Maybe not each player individually but collectively.
