If we knew we could get Brad, would the announcement of Archie being let go be pushed off until NBA season over or would that not matter and we will still hear about Archie within days?

If you fire him now or in June, his buyout remains the same.  However if you fire him now, you quit paying his salary.  This could save the university almost a million dollars.

Fire him now.

This is the route I think they would go. And quite honestly it would be pretty telling if the position was vacant for awhile. We would all know who they would be getting.

If they could get him...man, this place would be rocking. I think there is a better chance in 2021 than in 2017.

Chris007, do you know if IU even talked to Brad in 2017?  I have heard that Fred Glass kinda zeroed in on Archie from the beginning and we didn't really consider anyone else.  Is that true?

Exactly. I'm not expecting him but like I said if they could get him...this program would be rocking.
That's how it starts. Next thing you know you start believing we can get him then when the hire comes you are disappointed. Hey I'm all for Brad and I'm all for everyone having hope for it but me personally I'm expecting something else.

Pretty much described 2017. It was Billy D and Brad for me. That Friday when Albers tweeted about Donovan being in Bloomington I thought he was ours. Man did that end his career. I'm expecting someone like Musselman. (I'd take him)

Here's a scenario: AD talks to BS and they come to an agreement to hire him after the Celts season is over.  What, if anything, do you tell CAM?  Keep him in the dark and fire him when there are little or no openings available (and you have to eat the entire buyout), or do you negotiate a decreased buyout and allow him to step down so he can put his name in the ring for any coaching vacancies?

I completely forgot about Albers, LOL!

Brian Snow is reporting on Peegs that Archie is not under any pressure and that there has been no talk of removing him as coach this year. He also said that no one in the industry has heard of the IU just coming open. I will say I have heard the exact opposite. Not sure if he is just trying to protect Archie but it was laughable what he wrote.

Snow is an Archie supporter correct?

I’m going back and forth with him on that. Doesn’t make sense that there would be “zero pressure” or that he would even know less than 24 hours after our last loss.

No Pressure? No Talk? WTH? I mean has he not read Twitter? Facebook? Btwonbanners? HSN? Peegs?

Everyone is talking about it! lol

Makes sense. Crean at least had successful seasons, recruited well, resurrected our program, and won B1G championships.

Archie has done nothing except disappoint. I'd like to think he'd resign but he just doesn't seem like that kinda person and I totally get it - he wants his moolah.
