My thinking is IU wins all the rest of their home games (that puts us at 11 wins) and wins two of their final 6 road games. That can most certainly happen.

Just saw on Twitter that the water bottle thrower may have actually been a Michigan State Fan?

I can't tell but this could just be a MSU fan with a Fake IU Student ID in the Student Section and not involved in the bottle throwing (based on the security's reaction to whatever he gave the security guard). 

But it begs the question, if the ref doesn't see who throws the bottle, can they really give a Tech to the home team if they don't know which team's fan threw something onto the court? 

So on the road, an IU fan needs to dress up in the other teams gear and bombard the floor with bottles while trying not to get caught by security to get us few extra points on the board.  Correct?

Thought this same thing forever... especially after an initial warning has been given and they make an announcement to the crowd... opposing fans should definitely get secretive and throw things on the court in a close game towards the end...

I mean they SHOULDN'T.... but I am surprised it hasn't happened considering the rules seem to make it a T against the Home team regardless.

Agree. Not really sure what’s stopping some insanely stupid fans from going on the road and earning their team a couple free throws and possession at the end of a close game.

There's a difference between passion and what some fans do. Now.. to the recruits, that's a weak reason not to be interested, but some of our fans are entirely too over the top.

There's a difference between passion and what some fans do. Now.. to the recruits, that's a weak reason not to be interested, but some of our fans are entirely too over the top.

What does that mean? They love the team and REALLY want them to win. Get pissed when they lose?

Ridiculous. Sure. Every team that generates interest and money has “over the top” fans. Every. Single. Team. We aren’t some isolated monster of a fan base.

 

That we have sucked so long, we now believe having passionate fans is our problem is to truly shocking conclusion here.

 

The reason it stands out so much is because we’ve been bad for so long, we hear from the frustrated portion more frequently and continuously.

 

Archie has had a decent leash but by year 3 that is wearing out. He starts winning and being a top 20 team each year, the noise will absolutely quiet down.

 

But we haven’t had a good year yet, so this year could set the stage if it ends favorably.

I agree....honestly, with us in the mix at this point and with how we are trending upward, we could very well share or win the conference title. Take care of home and split our 3 sets of two game road trips to only lose 3 more conference games. Totally achievable if we keep playing like we have been.

Plus, anyone can be anyone they want to be on Twitter. Those crazy "IU" fans could very well be Kentucky fans or Purdue fans hiding behind fake accounts to make IU look bad. Whenever a kid posts his top 50 schools list the replies are full of love from IU fans, and yet we're supposed to believe that the few bad apples are driving them away.
